In this official volunteer role, appointed by the commanding officer, I served as an information link between command leadership and Navy families, disseminating information both up and down the chain of command, including official Department of the Navy and command information, command climate issues, local quality of life (QOL) improvement opportunities and “good deals” around the community.
I supported over 50 cases of personal natures ranging from financial crisis to domestic issues. I briefed all new incoming Sailors to the command during monthly indocrination training with resources in the area for them and their families. -

Provided overall leadership of the FRG which included planning, running, and supervising all 24 FRG activities throughout my tenure while ensuring effective communications systems were established with families and the command leadership. Successfully raised funds through social activities that were used to provide assistance to families in need, like providing emergency funds when a Sailor's home was demolished in an accidental fire.
