“I was fortunate enough to have worked with Daniel at TOMS for several years and see his progression from an analytics maven to the top digital marketing leader in the company. Not only was Daniel an expert in the funnel, ad tech, and all things acquisition and retention, but he was also able to communicate how everything worked in a clear and approachable way that everyone could understand. This was definitely an impressive skill I saw in action every day as he explained esoteric digital topics and KPIs to C-level executives which led to senior level buy-in, support, and confidence in our programs. As a result of this combo of expertise and communication, Daniel was a very in-demand thought leader and made a huge positive impact on the company. Daniel was also one of the best managers I've had. He had a flexible management style that adapted to each direct report and their unique skills and needs. Personally, he was able to give me the freedom to make decisions and grow while also providing guidance when I needed it. He truly cared about his team and demonstrated it with his tireless work ethic in making sure everyone was supported. He was never reluctant to roll up his sleeves and get into the minutia to help fill gaps and find efficiences in our programs. I highly recommend Daniel and would definitely work with him again! ”

A few nice things clients, colleagues, and partners have said about me: <br><br>"His grasp of social networking is second to none. My line of business is the same as Mike's and I hope to continue working closely with him as he is a true asset to the industry."<br><br>"Unlike many strategists, he can see beyond the marketing plan to gauge what *really* works. One of the things that excites me most about working at Seedtag is seeing how we’re reshaping the way brands connect with people. 🤝 In this video, Shari Munoz, Seedtag’s Head of Research and Measurement, explains how Neuro-Contextual Advertising goes deeper than traditional signals. Instead of focusing only on pages, it taps into the mindset and intent behind each moment, helping brands cut waste, stay privacy-safe, and create more meaningful experiences across CTV, video, and the open web. #NeuroContextual #PrivacyFirst #AdTech #DigitalAdvertising

Buying groups don’t buy one story. Swapping headlines by persona isn’t strategy. Building one narrative and slicing it three ways isn’t personalization. Real personalization means architecting the buyer journey around the ICPs you’re built to win. Buying groups aren’t aligned by default. They have different incentives. Different definitions of value. Different risk thresholds. If your GTM motion doesn’t reflect that, you’re not driving consensus. You’re introducing friction. And in complex B2B sales, friction kills deals. The right message. For the right stakeholder. At the right moment in the journey. That’s how alignment (and revenue) actually happens. Enjoyed the conversation with Juntae DeLane on what it really takes to operationalize this across modern buying committees. 🎧 Full episode in the original post. #B2BMarketing #GTMStrategy #DemandGeneration #ICP #ProductMarketing #RevenueLeadership

More Than Cars • 13K followers
The future of auto is not AI-first or price-first. It’s people-first, or it’s already broken. I sit with dealers, vendors, media teams every week. Dashboards glow. Tools stack up. Margins squeeze. Yet one pattern keeps showing up. Stores with the strongest brand gravity care deeper. About people who work there. About people who buy there. Not fake care on a poster. Daily care. In meetings. On the floor. In the lane. You feel it when you walk in. Leaders who: → Know names, not only numbers → Protect culture, not only grosses → Fix broken process, not only broken cars Teams who: → Tell the truth, even when profit takes a hit → Own mistakes, then repair trust → Serve families, not “ups” Tech plays a huge role in that future. CRMs, AI, data, video, modern retail tools. All powerful. All needed. Yet tech stays in second place. First place goes to how people feel: → When they work in your store → When they walk your showroom → When they hit “submit” on a form at midnight Care compounds. Over months. Over years. The unfair advantage in retail auto is not another plug-in. The unfair advantage is a store that cares so deeply, no tool can fake it. That is the future of automotive I want to help build.

For years, loyalty was viewed primarily as a retention tool. Today, it has become something far more powerful: a relationship engine. At Ulta Beauty, nearly 95% of sales are connected to our loyalty ecosystem. What excites me most is what comes next… AI is creating the opportunity to move from broad segmentation to truly individualized experiences at scale helping us serve our guests in ways that feel more useful, inspiring, and human across every touchpoint. Proud of the teams across marketing, data, technology, analytics, stores, merchandising, and operations who continue to push this work forward every day. #teamultabeauty

“We don’t want our loyalty program to just be another punch card. We want to build a deeper emotional connection with our customers.” We hear this all the time at Stitch. And then those same brands go launch a revamped program that… earns you discounts based on how much money you spend. “Spend $$$, get $.” Mmm, babes. That’s exactly what you said you didn’t want. But we get it. There’s pressure to launch something fast because all of your competitors are launching loyalty programs left and right, and falling even further behind isn't an option. And the punch card model is the easiest path. Low effort, low strategy, low creativity. And hey — I’m not saying it’s bad. Sometimes the simplest solution is the best one. Most people do join loyalty programs for discounts. But let’s be honest: if you want a loyalty program that’s genuinely differentiated, you need a brand that is, too. That’s why Sun Bum’s new loyalty program caught my eye yesterday. It’s a masterclass in building something deeper — and more fun. Instead of earning cash, you earn bananas 🍌. And the ways you earn them? Not just “buy more sunscreen.” Instead, they reward behavior that builds community and reinforces their brand: 🌅 Sharing pics of sunsets (UGC!) 🥼 Learning about skin cancer prevention (brand education!) 📷 Sending funny pics of you eating ice cream (more UGC!) It’s not just about buying more sunscreen. It’s about living a life of fun in the sun while staying safe doing it. Another thing that stood out to me about Sun Bum's loyalty program: they’re not driving app downloads because they “didn’t want to join a landscape that is crowded with some great but many bad loyalty apps.” 👀 Bravo, Sun Bum. What a great example of distilling your brand values into every little facet of your brand experience. This is how you turn loyalty into real brand love. Let this be a reminder to all brands who want to "deepen emotional connections with their customers:" ✨ Know what your customers care about outside your product ⏰ Take the time to build something meaningful ⚙️ Just because everyone is doing it doesn’t mean you should

Instacart and ChatGPT, another partnership update, and a clear signal of where shopper behavior has already shifted. There’s so much opportunity for brands leaning in right now. Product copy isn’t a “refresh every few years” project. It’s core to becoming the answer a chatbot recommends and the difference between being discovered or overlooked. We’re already seeing this with the leading brands who are testing, learning, and iterating their product copy for conversational discovery. They’re treating product copy like a performance channel, and it’s paying off. https://lnkd.in/ehDSZxna

Advertising has never had more channels, but conversions have never depended more on simplicity. This white paper breaks down why clarity, trust, and timing outweigh reach, with lessons from the national market, Cleveland’s case-study, and the cultural gaps across U.S. regions.

A few days ago I wrote about the ROAS trap. When brands hold paid social entirely accountable to last click efficiency, they often cap their own growth. 🛑 The work we did with Nordic Naturals is a great example of a different approach. Instead of optimizing purely for attributed ROAS, the strategy focused on discovery and demand creation. Reaching new audiences, driving qualified traffic, and allowing conversions to happen across the broader commerce ecosystem. When they measured the true impact through a geo-lift study, the results were clear. Social’s impact was underreported by 98% and the campaigns drove 35% net-new customer growth. 💡 This is the blind spot many brands face. If you only measure what happens in-platform, you only optimize for what the platform can see. But paid social often does its most powerful work outside the platform by driving search, influencing retail purchases, and expanding household penetration. 💪🏻 The brands growing the fastest today are the ones willing to invest up funnel and measure incrementality. 📈 Growth rarely comes from squeezing more efficiency out of the same customers. It comes from finding the customers who have not discovered you yet. 🔎

Retail media is a $45B market. But here's the problem: banners blend into the background. Some Retailers figured out how to charge 3-5x higher CPMs. Their secret? Full-screen Stories as premium inventory. Instead of competing with banner blindness, they created a "Brand of the Month" sponsorship model. CPG brands get: 30-60 seconds of undivided attention Interactive polls for zero-party data Shoppable CTAs with direct conversion The retailer gets: Premium ad inventory New revenue stream Differentiation from competitors The key insight: Stories don't replace your RMN stack. They become premium inventory within it. Swipe through to see the full model.

Miami F1 was a blast, and yes, I spent half the time looking at the brands (iykyk) As F1 sponsorship price tags rise, are brands measuring the real impact of their full investment? It's so much more than just slapping a logo on a car, driver, or track. . . That's what MarketCast can help you measure. Our F1 Sponsorship Effectiveness Report tracks 15 active sponsors across awareness, purchase consideration, and category leadership: https://hubs.li/Q04dCvR30 Want to understand how we measure the full sponsorship dollar from exposures to outcomes? How to test Meta’s new ADV+ Sales *Without killing what’s working:* We’re live in every account. Top agencies don’t wait on new tech. Here’s how we’re approaching: 1. Start small. ~20% of budget to new ASC. Legacy campaigns still run, but features are fading fast. 2. Don’t test creative (yet). Use proven winners. Help the algo build momentum. Mitigate the cold start problem. 3. Set expectations. Meta will keep evolving. Adapting FAST is the edge. The best agencies thrive in the shift. We’re betting on the future. Hedging with the present. Ride what’s working. But skate where the puck’s going.

Holiday Shopping Is Starting Earlier. Amazon, Best Buy, and Target are rolling out October holiday promotions, signaling broader shifts in retail. Consumers are cautious, so retailers are pulling demand forward. Loyalty perks, cultural tie-ins, and expanded assortments are being used as differentiators. For marketers, the message is clear: the holiday “season” is dissolving into rolling promotional cycles. Success now hinges on reinforcing brand value when attention is most fragmented. #RetailTrends #HolidayShopping #MarketingStrategy #ConsumerBehavior #AdvertisingInsights https://lnkd.in/gjZ6Pb6z

If you’re in retail / ecomm, this will feel accurate: "We’re in the middle of a weird under-advertised fall Prime Day. But we’re also preparing for BFCM, so it’s an awkward time to scale spend. Conversion performance is dropping off, but that’s only because people know Black Friday is coming." Parents are also getting a new toy catalog each week. Discretionary funds are either going to unplanned Prime Day Expanded Universe purchases or getting earmarked for later holiday shopping. (UX tip: don’t ship a catalog and not have some items on your site, Amazon.) via Northbeam https://lnkd.in/eFbdsr64

Most brands aren’t short on #martech—but they are short on profitable growth. Here’s a fresh breakdown of how Kurt Geiger went from plateaued performance to incremental ecommerce revenue by layering Wunderkind on top of their existing ESP and CRM, not ripping anything out. The story gets into why #identity is the “eyes” of your stack, how an autonomous marketing platform becomes the “brain,” and what actually changes when you double down on onsite capture and triggered messaging. If you’re staring at flat ESP performance and wondering what lever to pull next, this one’s worth a read: https://lnkd.in/gN6QmWAQ

Why are creator networks expanding beyond gaming? In three words: trust, relevance and authenticity. Modern Retail recently interviewed the CMOs of Lowe’s and Best Buy about their moves this year to build creator networks that accelerate online and digital growth. In the article, Jennifer Wilson, CMO of Lowe's Companies, Inc. stated that the goal of their program is “for the brand to reach Millennials, Gen Z and Gen Alpha who trust creators for advice, product picks and inspiration.” BENlabs’ Adam Tanielian chimed in as well, commenting that these storefronts put the “power of creation in the hands of the creators, so that the brand comes to life through the eyes of their community.” Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/gPxtP7JJ

Navigo Marketing • 3K followers
This chart comes straight from our BF/CM Amazon breakdown in the Navigo Marketing newsletter, and one pattern stood out immediately: the top products were discounted more aggressively than usual across every major beauty category. The discounts weren’t isolated. They were systemic. Tools, body care, K-beauty, and complexion all leaned into deeper markdowns to secure share during the peak shopping window. What surprised us wasn’t just the discount depth. It was the concentration of sales. A small group of products captured a disproportionate share of volume, which says a lot about Amazon shopper behavior during moments of choice overload. Validation plus discounting drives acceleration. For beauty brands, this is a connected commerce story. The surge you see on Amazon over BF/CM is rarely created in the moment. It’s the release of weeks of demand generated across Meta, TikTok, Sephora, and Ulta. When the product page, retail media, and promotion strategy are aligned, Amazon becomes the point where all that intent resolves.

Clorox testing TikTok Shop is a signal worth paying attention to They’re not treating social as “upper funnel” anymore — they’re letting discovery, content, and commerce live in the same place. And early results are promising. A few takeaways: -Product discovery is increasingly entertainment-first, not search-first -Creator-led content is becoming a commerce engine, not just brand building -Speed and test-and-learn matter more than perfectly polished plans -Feels like we’re entering a phase where brands that experiment early in social commerce will compound advantages while others play catch-up. Worth the read: https://okt.to/JUTNFz Curious how others are thinking about social-first commerce inside their orgs

Excited to dig into this at Shoptalk with Pinterest and an incredible group of leaders. We will be talking about visual discovery, incremental growth, and what is actually working for brands right now. See you in Vegas, PJ Andersen!
