“You see them, hear them, feel the rumble in your chest, smell the burning rubber and race fumes,” said Jen digital design lead. “It would be hard NOT to experience them in some way.”
This
#FordEmployee wasn't talking about the hum of cable cars that typically buzz in San Francisco's iconic Marina District.
On Saturday, February 21, the city was electrified by a very different kind of roar. And Jen was right in the thick of the action, soaking up every G-Force and tire-shredding moment, along with software engineer Ravin Sardal.
The Red BuRavin Sardalnce again brought the heart-pounding spectacle of Formula 1 to the Bay, transforming the waterfront into a high-octane playground. With fans tuning in from around the globe and thousands lining the streets, this wasn't just an event – it was a sensory explosion of speed, precision, and raw automotive power.
"I love these kinds of showcases; they’re my favorite car events to go to,” said Jen. “Mainly because the cars can be experienced at their fullest (save driving them).”
“I will always love the Mustang. Getting to see that GT3 up close and see its incredible build was a treat. I had a great conversation with one of the crew and it was truly insightful for me to learn, and see, all the decisions that went into making such a purpose-built machine. The cherry on top? Hearing it rip through the streets of San Fran!”
For Ravin, being an F1 fan is a way of life – he hasn’t missed watching a race for the past 10 years.
"It was amazing seeing the Red Bull F1 car that Vettel raced and won a championship in. More than seeing it, hearing it was something else. You could keep your eyes closed and know exactly where it was on the circuit,” said Ravin. “I have never heard the V8 F1 in person before, so it was quite a treat, and videos online do not do the sound justice.”
Beyond the sensory experience, the event also reinforced the significance of Ford's return to Formula 1, what it means for our customers, and how racing has a direct connection to the roles of our teams.
“The culture that’s inherently a part of these machines is what drew me to work at Ford in the first place,” said Jen. “Going to these events reminds me what’s on the other side of all the work we do; the community that gets built around the love of cars, the passion in the fans, and the inspiration it can bring.”
"I am very excited about Ford and Red Bull’s partnership,” said Ravin. “It’s going to be fun to see Ford’s return to F1."
