🔧 Choosing the right forklift goes beyond just considering “load capacity.” While many dealers focus on the rated capacity (like 3.0T), the real user experience hinges on several other important factors: 1️⃣ Lift Height For taller warehouse racks, mast performance becomes crucial. Insufficient lift height can make stacking a challenge and hinder efficiency. 2️⃣ Ground Clearance In outdoor settings or on uneven surfaces, a low chassis can lead to getting stuck. Want to set you and your dealer apart from others?    Spend the extra time and effort to determine max GCW for stock line haul chassis vs. applying 80K. I’d recommend the same for customer chassis. If grossing more than 80K, who is in position to determine if the stock chassis qualified for more and for how much? Engineering might be willing to document the increased value, but it could be a challenge, so doing this up front is key. Once ordered, the chassis usually is what it is and the documented value can’t be changed.   The first limit is regulated by the axle manufactures at grades less than 8% per Application. The Interstate guideline is 6%, no more than 8% for a mile or two. State and local roads can be a steeper grade, but hopefully not for more than a couple miles. Grandfather clauses and permits allow more weight, so those require added consideration. Most OEMs offer 80K limited axles for OTR interstate fleets, so increased loading affects down time and can limit warranty coverage. Other conditions are cooling, gearing and application. Some OEMs limit Allison to 110K, but that’s a generic cooling limit, so identify the correct value with Engineering as opposed to taking 110K as gospel.   The Detroit, Dana, and Meritor axle limits are in the corresponding Application Guideline Handbooks. Values are published, and at times do not agree with the OEM Sales Tool due to grade differences. Verify Applications are tied to the proper grades.    It’s easy to just put 80K on the order, however there are many states that allow more weight via Grandfather clauses and permits, even though Federal Bridge states 80K.    We’re excited to announce our 2½-day Service and Sales Class. Meyer Distributing has added a cross-dock in Columbus, Ohio. The facility has a direct feed from Meyer’s Jasper, Indiana distribution hub, which houses automotive accessories, crash and collision parts, 4x4 and off-road products, tires, wheels, RV products, and trailer parts. “The Columbus, OH dock will provide top-notch delivery service to Central Ohio with significantly upgraded daily capacity,” said CEO Jeff Braun. #aftermarket #autoparts #autocare

How important is it to select the right Vocational Salesperson, OEM and Dealer? Acronyms. Zfactorconnect.com (References) 56 pages. Sales Codes are loaded, know the language. Example, SFFA vs. SBFA - Set Forward Front Axle, vs. Set Back Front Axle. Yes, chassis have been delivered with the wrong axle position because no one questioned the acronym. $'s can't fix this one. Spec reviews, code by code are time consuming but important, prior to placing the order. Paper Pilots are recommended. Fleet Pilots resolve expectations on the first chassis. Reviewing the Pilot upon arrival can be expensive. I would not recommend matching your OEM specs, nor would I recommend coping another OEM spec. Example, sleeper is 70”, the other 72”, which is larger? Who knows. The size and BOC affects wheelbase/trailer gap, 5th wheel slide/position and weight distribution. Improving the spec is important, so be prepared to explain WHY. For the past 11 years, my partner and I have been helping sales teams get it right the first time. The news follows an earlier announcement that the business will lower production rates, reflecting softer demand on the back of a Q3 revenue drop of 4%. “Current economic and industry dynamics provide a catalyst to further optimise the business' cost structures, reducing its break-even point to better align with current low industry volumes, particularly in the industrial segment,” the company says in a statement. 🚨 Cardinal Dealers are very SMART! 🚨 A Cardinal dealer in Kentucky was contacted by a scrap yard company to help resolve their truck scale issues. Their older analog scale by another manufacturer was found to be 900 lbs off (yikes 😳) and there was no way to correct it due to an obsolete weight indicator from the other manufacturer.
