As the daughter of two teachers and the granddaughter of sharecropping farmers, I was raised to believe that growth doesn’t just happen, you cultivate it through trust. Who knew selling Girl Scout cookies like my future depended on it would lead to a career in sales, globally. This next season isn’t about chasing numbers or checking boxes. And sometimes… we get record-breaking snow across the entire state, the kind that stops everything and reminds you to find the joy in all things. Even when that joy shows up two Mondays in a row without school. A house full of laughter (even while the laptop is open) never gets old. Exhausting? Absolutely. But I know these days are numbered. Meet SASssy The Snowman who is apparently Olaf's little brother who prefers coding instead of summer. 😂 Around the same time, a post from Dr. Chris Dossenbach, Ed.D., Superintendent of Lee County Schools, made the rounds online that perfectly captured my thoughts on a good old-fashioned snow day: "Days like today don't come often for us. It is a reminder that learning also happens in moments of joy, wonder and play… School will be back soon enough so go enjoy a good old-fashioned snow day.” That message hit home. Hard. As hybrid work continues to evolve on where and how we work, it's still important to learn that sometimes the right call is to let the snow day happen. In corporate terms I call this a mental health day. Take some advice from Dr. D's playbook: learning doesn't just happen in meetings or conference rooms, it happens in moments of joy. Today feels like a good day to put a little bit of the joy back into your life. For now, it's back to the office, but I'll admit I'm a little happier, and a lot more grateful that I said yes to the sing-a-long version of "Do you want to be a snowman?" from my girls. ☃️🎵

The future is built by people who show up the same way, everyday. It's built by people who stand out (sometimes in sequins jackets 🤩) and turn their mistakes into fuel for what's next. It's built by colleagues like mine who serve people first and empower them to make better decisions. This gem of a photo was taken at our global company kickoff, and it captured exactly how this year feels: giddy up...let's make this one count. I was inspired by Savannah Bananas head coach, Tyler Gillum, who reminded us that the best teams don’t just build great products, they build experiences people can’t wait to come back to. That mindset is shaping how we’re approaching this year and especially for our "fan favorite" signature event, SAS Innovate. Customer experience isn’t a side project. It’s the first impression. It’s the moments that matter. It’s how trust is built. It's how partnerships grow. Our brand is built on trust. It's time to be the most trustworthy data and AI partner that powers worldwide decions. Brandi Brooks Davis shared thisThe other day, my kids asked me to “play the SAS song again.” I had no idea what they were talking about… until they started singing the Microsoft Teams dial tone 😄 Somehow, it’s become the background music of our afternoons: playing in the car after school, floating out of my home office while backpacks hit the floor to pull out homework and snacks are negotiated (and the Davis girls are creative in their negotiations). It made me pause. As working parents, we spend a lot of time talking about leadership, coaching, and building the next generation - usually in the context of work. But our most important leadership moments are also happening at home, often when we don’t even realize it. Our kids are watching how we show up. They’re listening to how we talk about work and our "work friends". They’re learning what balance looks like, not from what we say, but from what we do. One thing I’m grateful for is working at a company that truly supports flexibility. At SAS, we’re empowered to work in ways that fit our lives, which sometimes means emails get sent at odd hours or meetings happen earlier or later in the day due to global meet-ups. What matters is that flexibility goes both ways. Just because work fits into life doesn’t mean life disappears into work. That’s a lesson I hope my kids absorb too. We don’t have to model perfection, which is often hard remember. We just have to be intentional. We can care deeply about our careers while also showing respect for boundaries, rest, and family time. We’re always coaching. Always leading. Even when we think no one is listening. Parents: If Kids Bop fades out and the MS Teams ringtone kicks in (and your kids adjust accordingly) sounds to me like we're raising highly adaptable (and employable) humans for a hybrid workforce.

Brandi Brooks Davis shared thisThis week, I celebrated something my ancestors fought for across seven generations. As a proud citizen of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina I’m still taking in what full federal recognition truly means, not just for me, but for my children, my family, and our entire tribal community. This moment carries the weight of history, perseverance, and hope. To celebrate, I gathered with members of the Triangle Native American Society and there is good medicine in giving a hug and a high-five with friends like Nora who’ve become family. What makes it even more meaningful is that I’m standing alongside three members of my management team, Blair, Frank and Laura, who chose to celebrate this historic moment with me following our annual holiday dinner. It was a joyful occasion to also introduce them to Alisa, a fellow Lumbee who has been instrumental in helping us build a SAS employee inclusion group to honor and celebrate Indigenous people. Moments like this remind me that I’m able to walk in multiple worlds - as a professional leader and as an Indigenous woman - without having to leave any part of myself behind. That doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when workplaces intentionally create cultures where people are embraced for their full identities, while still being encouraged to pursue big goals, leadership paths, and ambitious dreams. It happens when colleagues show up for each other outside the office because that support deepens trust, respect, and partnership inside the workplace. I’m grateful to work alongside people who understand that celebrating who we are strengthens how we lead. And to everyone who may be wondering how to acknowledge this moment, it’s okay to simply be excited. Celebration doesn’t require perfect words. Sometimes you witness history by standing beside it and honoring the moment as it unfolds and that is more than enough. This is one of those moments in time worth celebrating. Brandi Brooks Davis shared thisThis morning, December kicked off in our house the way it usually does with a little magic and a lot of creativity. The girls woke up to ✨Sparkles the Elf✨ making her grand return, and of course she arrived in style… with a full Welcome Parade “sponsored” by my very own insurance agent, Brad. 😂 It was funny, chaotic, and honestly such a good reminder of the creativity parents pull off this time of year. Every night we’re coming up with new ideas, new setups, and new ways to keep the magic going. Half the time it feels like we’re running a mini-marketing department for a tiny elf with very high expectations. As a frontline manager, this mindset really does show up in our work too, especially in December. Year-end is crowded and competitive. Everyone’s trying to launch campaigns, close deals, and capture attention before the calendar year ends. And just like at home, the only way to stand out is to get creative, move quickly, and make moments that actually mean something to the people we’re trying to reach. Even the little “sponsorship” joke from my husband’s insurance company was a good reminder: branding opportunities really are everywhere when you look for them. (Seriously, he’s a great agent if you need home, auto or life 😉.) As we wrap up the year, I’m taking Sparkles’ annual lesson to heart with a little extra creativity to help our clients solve enterprise problems. Whether you’re creating memories for kids or connecting with your customers, here’s to finishing strong and making the magic happen through the end of 2025!
