The Department of War Office of Small Business Programs has launched LYNX, a digital platform designed to help small businesses, non-traditional suppliers, and growing defense contractors better understand readiness, showcase capabilities, and connect with mission-aligned opportunities. “LYNX reflects our commitment to reducing barriers to entry and expanding participation across the defense industrial base,” said James Mismash, Director of Small Business Programs. “By providing a common framework for readiness and capability, LYNX supports faster engagement, smarter collaboration, and more resilient supplier growth.” A diverse, dynamic, and secure industrial base is crucial to national security, fostering innovation and resilience in the face of evolving global challenges and technological advancements. On March 6, the Secretary signed our direction on the Software Acquisition Pathway. PTDO CIO Katie Arrington quickly kicked off a 90-day sprint to develop the Software Fast Track (#SWFT) program. As part of this program, Ms. Arrington recently signed a memo entitled "DoD Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) Information and Communications Technology Supply Chain Risk Management" which directs the team to update the "Requirements for the Acquisition of Digital Capabilities Guidebook." This update will build on the 12 risk categories developed by the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Sustainment (OASD(S)). These categories are outlined in the attachment to Ms. Arrington's memo. The memo can be found at https://lnkd.in/gWJJwupb The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) supply chain is critically important to the Secretary's ongoing transformation of the Department into the most lethal fighting force in the world. Last week, CyKor had the privilege of participating in the Charleston Defense Contractors Association Small Business Industry Outreach Initiative (CDCA SBIOI). We gained valuable insights from leaders in the Expeditionary Warfare and Shore C2ISR Departments about their current priorities and technology focus areas. A consistent theme was the growing role of AI, now a foundational element in NIWC’s solutions. NIWC is actively seeking innovative partners specializing in Unmanned Systems, Robotics, and Non-Kinetic Effects technologies. CyKor is well-positioned to support these efforts through our expert engineering team and our state-of-the-art Emerging Technology Lab. In addition to these strategic discussions, a standout moment was Captain Koepp II’s update on the Navy Nuclear Power Command School, which trains over 3,000 enlisted and officer students annually. As David Ray noted, it’s exciting to see the school’s shift toward simulated training, with a new simulation facility planned to break ground in 2026. FGCU Pilots Tassel’s Post-Ceremony Surveys with Impressive Results We had the chance to sit down with April Cordonnier from Florida Gulf Coast University to chat about her experience adopting Tassel’s new post-ceremony survey offering.
