    The project concentrates on increasing the performance on Android device at kernel level by tuning the kernel configuration, adding optimized CPU governor and I/O scheduler, reducing the kernel load and start-up time.

    In the final year college project ‘Kernel Level I/O and Scheduling Optimization for Android Devices’, I concentrated on performance optimization of Android device kernel by tuning the kernel configuration, adding an optimized CPU governor and I/O scheduler and hence achieving a reduced kernel load and start-up time.

    The CPU governor coded in the C programming language could adjust CPU frequency depending upon the current CPU load either by establishing an ideal frequency heuristic or by monitoring past CPU load readings.

    The project describes “system level” optimization of embedded software to achieve faster boot times.

    It was an opportunity to develop on the theoretical concepts of operating system that received recognition as the best project in the semester from the Computer Science department.
