Annyce Davis reposted thisAnnyce Davis reposted thisLast week was truly a full-circle moment for me. I had the opportunity to attend the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) National Convention for the third year in a row, but this time, not as a prospect, but representing Ford. Being on the other side of the table was incredibly rewarding. I had the chance to connect with so many talented, driven individuals and see the same passion in them that others once saw in me. Through those conversations, I was able to share my journey as a Manufacturing FCG at Ford, along with insights and advice to help them navigate their own career paths. Mentorship has always been something I value deeply, and it meant a lot to be in a position where I could give back and support the next generation of engineers, just as others once did for me. I’m incredibly grateful to Ford for the opportunity to participate in such an impactful event and for continuing to invest in spaces that uplift and empower future talent. I also really appreciated the chance to meet and reconnect with members of the Ford family from a variety of backgrounds. It was inspiring to see the diversity of experiences and perspectives that make our community so strong. Annyce Davis shared thisMost leaders don’t have a file problem. They have a signal decay problem. You remember the decision. You forget the trade-offs. You lose the trajectory. I stopped organizing files and built a leadership operating system instead: • Chronological decision log • Function-based execution engine • AI layered on top for synthesis This isn’t productivity. It’s strategic amplification. If you're leading at scale and experimenting with AI, this will hit home. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eY2dHy7H #Leadership #AI #ExecutiveLeadership #Productivity #EngineeringLeadership #FutureOfWork

Annyce Davis shared thisThis year at Ford taught me something I didn’t expect: AI didn’t replace my leadership. It made me better at it. I walked into enterprise-scale chaos — multiple platforms, deep dependencies, meetings about meetings. 😅 Some days I brought clarity. Other days… caffeine and hope. ☕🙏 The plot twist? AI became my copilot. It helped me: • Turn fuzzy ideas into real frameworks • Clean up docs I avoided like laundry • Coach leaders with sharper insights • Translate engineering chaos into exec clarity Every messy AI output exposed one truth: If my prompt was unclear, my thinking probably was too. I wrote about the lessons, the laughs, and how AI reshaped my leadership this year: 👉 Read the full post: https://lnkd.in/ehh6iex4 #AILeadership #EngineeringLeadership #WomenInTech #AIFirst #FutureOfWork #DigitalTransformation #TechLeadership #AIProductivity #FordA Year of Building, Learning, and Laughing My Way Through AI at FordA Year of Building, Learning, and Laughing My Way Through AI at Ford

Annyce Davis reacted on thisAnnyce Davis reacted on thisCompleted a course on Practical Leadership Skills. While the concepts weren’t entirely new, it was a good reminder that effective leadership is less about authority and more about consistency in small actions. A few things that stood out and reinforced my approach: • Creating clarity is often more valuable than having all the answers • Strong teams are built through trust, ownership, and continuous feedback • Good engineering outcomes are a result of both technical excellence and team culture In my day-to-day work, I’ve seen how focusing on these fundamentals—along with driving performance, scalability, and efficiency—can significantly improve both delivery and team effectiveness. Always looking to learn, refine, and grow as a leader.

I connected with so many talented collegiate students who were eager to learn more about opportunities at Ford. Most of my time was spent answering thoughtful questions about careers, growth, and what it truly means to build a future in the automotive industry. As a member of the Manufacturing FCG, I had the chance to share my personal journey—my manufacturing experience, the lessons I’ve learned, and how I’ve been able to make a meaningful impact at Ford within just 10 months of joining. Beyond recruiting, the networking events and Expo were amazing. It was great connecting with professionals across different companies and exchanging ideas and experiences. A big congratulations to Ayorinde Alase on receiving an #NSBE CSP scholarship award for #NSBE 25 under 25 . Very well deserved! Also, it was a pleasure working alongside Freud Damier, Touya Harris, MBA, MSE, Ean J. Hosted by the Linux Foundation, AAIF is a neutral organization focused on advancing adoption of key open source efforts like MCP, AGENTS․md, and Goose. Our members include Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, AWS, Microsoft, and 100+ others. This work is bigger than any single company or product. I'm ecstatic to help drive AI adoption and interoperability at an industry-wide level.

Teleios Cohort 2 is now open. If you're serious about becoming a world-class DevOps engineer in 2026, this is your path. Here's what you need to know: Cohort 2 starts January 2026. 16 weeks. Limited to 25 engineers. This isn't another bootcamp. This isn't tutorial hell with a certificate at the end. This is systems-based training for engineers ready to go from good to exceptional. WHAT YOU'LL BUILD Not toy projects. Not "hello world" apps. Real production-grade systems: → Multi-environment CI/CD pipelines with DevSecOps → Infrastructure as Code that scales across 3+ environments → Production observability with Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry → SRE practices: error budgets, incident response, on-call readiness → Multi-region architectures with disaster recovery Every project simulates real-world pressure. Tight deadlines. Unclear requirements. Production incidents. Because that's what you'll face when you get hired by a top company. WHO THIS IS FOR You're a mid-level engineer who can build but wants to architect. You understand the basics but struggle to design production-ready systems. You've hit the ceiling at your current job and need the skills to break through. You're ready to commit 15-20 hours per week for 16 weeks. And you're done collecting courses. You want to ship. WHAT'S DIFFERENT FROM COHORT 1 We learned a lot. Cohort 2 is sharper: ✓ Tighter cohorts (25 max) ✓ More 1-on-1 mentorship time ✓ Deeper capstone projects with real client scenarios ✓ Weekly live debugging sessions (learn how to think, not just what to do) ✓ Career transition support (resume reviews, mock interviews, referrals) Same high standards. Better execution. Cohort 1 results 85% placement rate within 3 months Engineers now working at companies across 3 continents Zero students who completed said it "wasn't worth it" This works. But only if you show up and do the work. LOGISTICS Start date: January 31, 2026 Duration: 16 weeks (ends late May) Format: Live sessions (2x per week) + async projects Application deadline: Application runs through January Spots are limited. Not for artificial scarcity. But because I personally review every application and mentor every cohort. Quality over quantity. THE INVESTMENT This isn't cheap. But it's a fraction of what you'll make back in your first year post-Teleios. Full details in the application. Payment plans available. If cost is your only blocker, let's talk. I'm not trying to make this exclusive to people with money. I'm trying to make it exclusive to people with commitment. HOW TO APPLY Click the link below https://lnkd.in/eSZtta_K If you have questions, DM me. I'll respond.

In the latest episode of Beyond The Build Podcast, Opeoluwa Osunkoya and I had the pleasure of sitting down with Carlos Hattix to talk all things recruiting. We dive into the other side of recruiting, and what happens behind the scenes, from the moment a job position opens up to how you can work strategically with recruiters to set yourself up for success. If you've ever been told you were "a strong candidate" but still didn't get the offer, this episode explains why that might have happened and offers some insights. No more partial rounds, no more imaginary goalposts. Black Operator Ventures (Black Ops VC) is coming in to lead and oversubscribe seed rounds, giving Black tech founders the "escape velocity" they need to compete at Series A. Founders James Norman and Sean Green are leveraging their lived experience and deep VC connections to properly structure rounds and ensure their portfolio companies are set for success. The mission is clear: build the next generation of Black tech unicorns. Read the full story here 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gg9M_X35 #AFROTECH

I just watched a brilliant engineer get passed over for promotion. Third time this year Not because of technical skills Those were flawless But what the CTO told me She can't collaborate. She won't mentor she just wants to code alone. We can't promote someone who can't grow a team. This is the pattern I'm seeing everywhere The playbook that worked 10 years ago is broken Back then, the path to senior engineer was clear: Master the text stack. Ship clean code. Solve hard problems. That's not enough anymore I was listening to Adrian Stanek and Denis Čahuk talk about career progression for engineers this week Dennis dropped gems on IO separation an Event Sourcing But Adrian said something that made me sit up: The engineers who lead the next decade won't just be technically excellent. They will be the ones who can collaborate, lead with empathy, ensure accountability and grow others through coaching. This is exactly what I see working with engineering teams The gap isn't only technical anymore It's much more human The engineers getting promoted now can: · Influence decisions across teams · Navigate conflict without drama · Make others better through mentorship · Create psychological safety that unlocks performance Technical excellence opens the door Human skills build the career Founders and engineering leaders If you're watching engineers hit a ceiling because they lack these human skills... - You are not alone - And there's a way forward What's the number one skill gap holding your team back now? Comment below ----------- Hi, I'm Lydia, I work with tech teams to build exactly these capabilities: collaboration, empathy driven leadership, accountability and coaching skills.

In the last six months, I’ve been really interested in how large systems make decisions when they lack good data. In finance, credit scores solve this by turning behavior into something other systems can price. In healthcare, that layer barely exists. Over 80% of Nigerians are uninsured largely because health insurance is priced without reliable behavioral signals. Kulawise is interesting to me because it treats this as a software problem: aggregating lifestyle data, extracting consistent patterns, and turning them into a non-clinical health reliability score. That score gives HMOs a clearer way to price risk and makes discounted or micro-insurance viable for people who can demonstrate lower long-term risk through behavior, not assumptions. #healthtech
