Hive CPQ is introducing a new term: "CPQ vibing" CPQ vibing, derived from the term 'code vibing', is a term for AI-assisted CPQ development where a CPQ model builder provides high-level, natural language instructions to an AI, and the AI generates the CPQ model. The model builder then interacts with the AI to refine and iterate on the code, often focusing on the overall goal rather than writing or debugging each line/rule/constraint themselves. Coined by Hive CPQ in early 2025, the practice represents a shift from traditional, line-by-line modelling to a more conversational and high-level workflow with an AI "model building buddy".

There’s a quiet irony in today’s “AI agent” debate. As The Information https://bit.ly/4avx4el reports, trust in generative AI is declining in enterprise settings. One reason: we’re asking agents to behave like deterministic systems. Most business workflows are algorithms: structured, repeatable, predictable. AI is excellent at building those workflows (writing code) and operating within them (summarizing, extracting, classifying). But the workflow itself is often better left deterministic. Agents aren’t computers, and shouldn’t be expected to act like them. The future is hybrid: workflows are deterministic; the work inside them often isn’t.

At Thoma Bravo's recent AI Summit, I sat down to record a live edition of our Behind the Deal podcast with Coupa's Leagh Turner and Anaplan’s Charlie Gottdiener. Though our conversation took place in November, now feels like the right moment for it to come out — hardly a day goes by without a headline about how enterprise SaaS is interacting with AI. It’s valuable to hear directly from two CEOs on the front lines. Both are living AI’s transformative potential. They’re focused on accountability — to their companies and their customers — and recognize the need to be intentional and systematic in how they incorporate and deploy AI, as industry norms and governance standards catch up to technological change. Both are confident in their companies’ positioning for enduring and growing value: insights from proprietary data and customer trust, built over decades, cannot currently be easily replicated. 📉 Salesforce Data Cloud 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝗟𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗽𝗽 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀 On April 15, Salesforce updated its Data Services Rate Card—great news when you are bringing Salesforce CRM, Marketing Cloud, or Commerce Cloud data into Data Cloud. 𝗧𝗟;𝗗𝗥: Ingesting data from internal Salesforce sources now costs just ¼ the credits compared to external sources. While many of us (myself included) would love to see internal data ingestion be free or have greater control over full refresh cycles, there is a real cost to ingesting and storing data in cloud infrastructure so I understand the need. https://lnkd.in/ghEWw7AG And let’s be honest—keeping a snapshot before data transformation (for standardization, cleansing, etc.) is a best practice to ensure your data is complete, consistent, correct, contextual, and compliant.
