We are excited to announce @UNTsocial was selected as one of eight institutions nationwide to participate in Arizona State University's new Work-Integrated Learning Accelerator. At UNT, student success means preparing today's students for tomorrow's careers and for lives of meaning and purpose. We look forward to working together with other like-minded institutions so all our students will gain knowledge, skills, experiences, and credentials of value that help them thrive in a rapidly changing economy. Through our partnership with the Work-Integrated Learning Accelerator, UNT will be creating a pilot program in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS) that offers students in the humanities opportunities to refine and apply their skills in ways that connect directly with today's workforce needs. These will include embedding real-world projects, employer partnerships, and practical experiences into CLASS courses and programs. As Texas continues to refine its teacher preparation strategies, residency-based alternative certification programs offer a promising model. Our latest evaluation of Relay Graduate School of Education's program shows: 📚 Stronger student outcomes – Students of Relay-trained teachers perform better in math and reading. 👩‍🏫 Higher teacher retention – Relay educators stay in the profession at higher rates, especially in critical early years. 🙅  Fewer student suspensions – Students with Relay-trained teachers were 30% less likely to be suspended. What This Means for Policy ✅ Residency models continue to show promise to stabilize the teacher pipeline. ✅ Alternative certification can excel, allowing more people to become teachers but with high-quality training. ✅ Classroom experience matters.
