📣 The Texas Health and Human Services Commission will hold a public hearing this Monday, Oct. 13, at 9 a.m. on the federal Rural Health Transformation Program, created under the July budget reconciliation bill. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝘅𝗮𝘀’ 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻-𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲. The program will provide $50 billion for rural health nationwide. Half of the funds will be distributed equally among states with approved applications. The remaining half will be allocated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services based on each state’s policies and rural health needs. Rice University and Houston Methodist will host the inaugural Digital Health Institute Summit October 8, launching what will become an annual gathering at the forefront of digital health and innovation.
