When you add a credit card to LinkedIn, a temporary hold may be placed to verify its validity. This helps prevent future campaign disruptions due to payment issues and helps reduce the risk of fraudulent activity.
No action is needed—this hold will automatically clear within 5–7 business days. If it remains longer than a week, please contact your bank directly.
The most common reason for an ad account to be put on hold is due to a billing issue or missing payment method. The ad account billing admin can usually remove the hold in these situations by adding or updating the credit card information in Campaign Manager.
If your LinkedIn Ads account has been put on hold, ads won’t run while the account is on hold but will resume once the hold is removed. A red banner will appear at the top of Campaign Manager with the reason why your account is On hold and the recommended steps to troubleshoot.
As an ad account’s billing admin, you can add or change the credit card used for LinkedIn Ads payments from your ad account’s Billing page.
To add, edit, or view billing information:
Go to your ad account in Campaign Manager.
Click Account settings
On the Billing setup tab, click the Update credit card button in the How you’ll pay section.
The currency you select for your ad account determines the currency your ad account is billed in. You'll also set bid and budgets and view reported metrics in the selected currency.

We’ve recently updated the candidate InMail experience to provide quicker and clearer responses to InMail messages with one-click reply buttons. Candidates can now accept or decline your InMail message with a quick reply before responding to your message with additional details. Because of this, when a candidate responds with only the No thanks or Yes quick reply and no text, the InMail message notification you receive won’t show any additional information.
When you create a Classic ad set, you’ll choose from settings to determine who your ad is displayed to, where your ad is displayed, how much your ad set spends, and when your ad set runs. Optionally, you can also add tracking such as conversion tracking or URL tracking parameters.
The first step when you select your ad set settings is to choose a marketing objective. An objective is the goal you’d like to achieve with your ad set. Ad sets are optimized for delivery to people most likely to take the action you want based on the objective you select. Each objective offers ad formats and bidding strategies that align with the goals of that objective.
