Last updated: 3 weeks ago

When you’re setting up your Conversions API (CAPI) conversion with Google Tag Manager (GTM), you can choose to set up server-side tracking with Stape when creating your conversion in Campaign Manager. This saves you the time of manually setting up your server in GTM and helps you create your conversions faster and more seamlessly, without any additional code required.

Please review the following information about using Stape as a part of your conversion creation with GTM.

LinkedIn-sponsored hosting of Google Tag Manager (GTM) server container via Stape

Important to know

Eligible advertisers can create and host one Stape server-side Google Tag Manager container per eligible LinkedIn ad account at no additional cost when the container is created through the Stape setup flow embedded in LinkedIn Campaign Manager.

This sponsored offer is intended to cover standard usage and is subject to eligibility requirements, usage limits, and additional terms as set forth:

How to qualify for LinkedIn-sponsored server container hosting via Stape

  • Your Stape server container must be created through the Stape experience embedded in the LinkedIn Advertising Platform. Learn how to set up your server container through Stape.
    • If you visit the Stape website via a link/redirect in the Stape Embed Services and then independently create a Stape Google Tag Manager Container on the Stape Platform, that container is not subject to LinkedIn sponsorship and may be subject to Stape’s standard pricing.
  • Each eligible LinkedIn ad account can create one sponsored Stape GTM container. Please note, if you need to change your container after you’ve set one up with Stape through Campaign Manager, you’ll need to delete the existing container on Stape’s website. Then, you can set up a different container through Campaign Manager.

Usage limits

  • Up to three custom domains can be mapped to each Stape GTM container.
  • LinkedIn-sponsored hosting is designed to cover standard usage for one sponsored GTM container per eligible LinkedIn ad account.
  • As a transparency guideline, the supported usage threshold is approximately 190 million incoming server requests per month per sponsored container. Stape will notify you as your container approaches this threshold, including at approximately 50% and 90% of supported usage.
  • You can monitor container request volume in your Stape account at https://app.stape.io/dashboard.
  • If your usage exceeds the supported monthly threshold, your container may no longer be covered by LinkedIn-sponsored hosting. In that case, Stape will contact you directly with more information about available options and any applicable standard pricing.
  • Additional promotional codes cannot be combined with LinkedIn-sponsored subscriptions.

What’s included

  • All LinkedIn-sponsored subscriptions include the same core feature set.
  • Stape Analytics, Logs, Monitoring, and "power-ups" like Custom Loader, Geo Headers, User ID, Cookie Keeper, and Anonymiser are included as standard. These recommended additional features from Stape enhance and broaden server-side GTM container's capabilities, offering more flexibility and control over data collection and privacy. The full up-to-date list of features included with your Stape account is available on the Stape Helpdesk site.
  • Stape service is available globally, with server hosting zones in the US and Europe.

Other important details

  • Any custom subscription arrangements must be handled directly with Stape outside the LinkedIn-sponsored program.
  • Containers with fewer than 2,000 incoming server requests per month become inactive and activity is paused. Stape will notify you if your container is below this threshold and will provide more information about how deactivation would work.
  • Stape operates the LinkedIn-sponsored server containers and your use of the containers is subject to Stapes’ terms and conditions, including its Terms of Use (currently located at: https://stape.io/terms-conditions) and Privacy Notice (currently located at: https://stape.io/privacy-notice).
  • LinkedIn has the right to restrict or exclude any customer, account, or end user from accessing the LinkedIn-sponsored server containers, and the LinkedIn-sponsored server containers may be discontinued by LinkedIn or Stape at any time, without notice to you.
  • For any support related to the Stape platform and/or account you can contact Stape at https://stape.io/helpdesk/submit-request
