Third-Party Appeals under Article 86 of the Digital Services Act (DSA)

Last updated: 10 months ago

Important to know

The Digital Services Act (DSA) grants persons in the European Union certain rights. Below we describe how organisations that wish to act as representatives of European Union persons who use our service can be recognized under DSA Article 86 and exercise content moderation appeals on behalf of those European Union persons.

At this time, we are only allowing organisations looking to exercise the appeal rights of persons in the European Union under DSA to apply.

Eligible bodies, organisations, or associations (Organisations) that wish to submit DSA Article 20 content moderation appeals on behalf of another LinkedIn user in accordance with DSA Article 86(2) can apply by sending an email to us at: lera_ie@linkedin.com

In your email, please include "DSA Article 86 Appeal" in the title/subject of your email along with the following information:

  1. Your Organisation’s name and purpose (e.g., a link to the organisation website that includes a description of its purpose);
  2. Confirmation that your Organisation operates on a not-for-profit basis;
  3. Confirmation that your Organisation has been properly constituted in accordance with the laws of a Member State;
  4. Evidence that your Organisation's statutory objectives include a legitimate interest in ensuring that the DSA is complied with; and
  5. Contact information for a representative of the Organisation that we can engage with to register the Organisation for DSA Art 86 purposes.

If your Organisation meets the above criteria, LinkedIn will email the Organisation's designated representative a submission form to use when submitting Article 20 Appeals on behalf of another LinkedIn user for processing in accordance with DSA Art 86.
