LinkedIn Live Video encoder settings

Last updated: 5 months ago

For eligible LinkedIn Live Video broadcasters, it's important to choose a reliable streaming quality based on your Internet connection. We recommend that you run a speed test to ensure that you’re getting at least 10 Mbps upload speed.

Encoder settings for cloud services (Restream, Vimeo Live, Easy Live, and Switchboard)

Use the following recommended settings when ingesting from your encoder:

Setting Recommended value
Aspect Ratio 16:9
Resolution 720p Recommended; 1080p Maximum
Frame Rate 30 fps
Key Frame Every 2 seconds (60 frames @ 30 fps)
Video Bitrate 3.5 Mbps Recommended; 6 Mbps Maximum
Audio Bitrate 128 Kbps
Audio Sample Rate 48 KHz
Encoding H.264 video, AAC audio
Protocol RTMP/RTMPS

Here's a tip

If your stream fails to process, check your encoder’s video profile. Use the Baseline profile instead of High or Main. Higher profiles can introduce B-frames and timestamp issues that prevent successful ingest.
