Import your contacts

Last updated: 3 days ago

You can build your network by importing contacts from your mobile device. This helps us to suggest relevant connections and show updates.

When you import contacts, LinkedIn runs a one-time upload of your address book contacts, as well as their detailed contact information. After that, we may periodically import and store details about your contacts to improve your suggestions. We'll never contact anyone without your permission. Learn more about how we use your data in our Privacy Policy.

To import contacts from your mobile device:

  1. Tap the My Network icon in the navigation bar of the LinkedIn mobile app.

  2. Tap Import contacts.

  3. If prompted, tap Continue to let LinkedIn access your contacts.

    • If you previously denied access, you’ll be guided to your App Settings to allow contact access manually.
  4. Choose how you'd like to share your contacts:

    • Tap Allow Full Access to upload all contacts
    • Tap Select Contacts if you want to choose manually.
  5. If you are selecting contacts manually, pick the contacts you want to sync and tap Continue.

Your contacts will be imported. You may see them as suggestions in the My Network page.
