Third-party tracking allows you to measure advertising performance by adding your tracking tag to your ads.
We currently support:
- Google’s Campaign Manager 360 (CM360, formerly DoubleClick Campaign Manager or DCM) - Attribute the clicks and impressions for each of your LinkedIn Ads.
- DoubleVerify and Integral Ad Science (IAS) - Measure viewability and invalid traffic (IVT) metrics for your LinkedIn video ads.
Prerequisites
Before you add your tracking tags to your ads, you need to:

Have the correct permissions to create and edit ads in Campaign Manager.
- For Sponsored Content and dynamic ads - You need super admin, content admin, or Sponsored Content poster access on your ad account's Page and creative manager access or higher on your ad account.
- For text ads - You must have creative manager access or higher on your ad account.
- For Sponsored Content and dynamic ads - You need super admin, content admin, or Sponsored Content poster access on your ad account's Page and creative manager access or higher on your ad account.

Obtain the tag URLs from your third-party tracking partner. We recommend using tracking tags instead of adding UTM parameters to your Destination URL when creating your ad.
- For impressions and clicks, we only accept impression and click tracking tags. Monitoring or blocking tags aren’t accepted.
- For video, we accept video tracking tags.

Important to know
Set up third-party tracking for your ads
To set up third-party tracking:

After you obtain tag URLs from your third-party tracking partner, go to Campaign Manager.
- If you’ve already created your ad, go to Advertise on the left menu and find your ad in the Ad sets tab. Click Manage below the ad.
- If you know the ad's campaign and ad set, you can select them from the Campaigns and Ad sets tabs to help filter the ads.
- If you’re adding tracking when creating your ad, complete your ad, then click Save ad.
- If you’ve already created your ad, go to Advertise on the left menu and find your ad in the Ad sets tab. Click Manage below the ad.

On the Ads in this ad set page, click the
More menu and select Manage Tracking. -
Select Impressions, Clicks, or Video at the top. Video is only available for video ads.

Add the tag URL on each ad you want to track. To add multiple tags, click +Add Another Tag.
- If multiple ads use the same tag to track impressions or clicks, your impressions or clicks will be counted multiple times. To track unique impressions or clicks and prevent double counting, use unique tags for each ad.

Click Save.
- If you receive an error message, it may be because you're trying to enter a tracking tag from an unsupported vendor.
- For more information on error messages, scroll to the Tracking tag error messages and explanations section of our Get Started article.

To confirm successful implementation and ensure your impressions are being counted, check your third-party vendor 48 hours after the ad set starts.
Results
Once you've installed your third-party tracking tags, you can edit or delete them from the Manage Tracking dialog. See Step 2 in the instructions above to access Manage Tracking.
