You can opt in and opt out from the LinkedIn direct calling feature only via the mobile app. This feature is not available in your web browser.
You can let recruiters on LinkedIn know that you’re open to getting direct or VoIP calls about new and relevant job opportunities through the Direct calling feature. This helps you increase your chances of landing your next role by allowing recruiters to call you directly from the LinkedIn mobile app - without sharing your phone number.
Direct calling makes it easier for recruiters to reach out when they find a strong match for your skills and preferences, helping you move faster in the hiring process.
In order to enable recruiter calls, you must opt in to receiving calls from recruiters.
While you may be prompted to enable calls from recruiters as you navigate the app, you can actively opt in at any time.
When you enable this feature, you might see a few pop-up messages to adjust your permissions settings. To fully use this feature, you will need to enable push notifications and microphone access to use this feature. To maintain your privacy, LinkedIn will never record any calls.
To enable Direct calling from recruiters:

Open the LinkedIn mobile app.

Tap your profile picture in the top left corner of the screen.

Tap Settings > Data privacy.

Under Who can reach you, tap Recruiter calls.

Switch the Allow recruiter calls toggle to "On".

Direct calling will roll out gradually over the coming months to members and companies in India. It will be available first on Android before becoming available to all members.
To opt out of the Direct calling feature:

On the mobile app tap Settings > Data privacy.

Under Who can reach you, tap Recruiter calls.

Switch the Allow recruiter calls toggle to "Off".
No. Members in India need to opt-in to this feature. You will be eligible to receive calls from recruiters only by opting in.
Currently, the opt-in is available for both Android and iOS apps. However, for the beta version, we will be the feature available only to Android opted-in members.
No. There is no cost for you to opt-in to receiving calls.
No. LinkedIn will not share your phone number with recruiters. We will enable a call from the Recruiter dashboard to opted-in members.
If you miss a direct call from a recruiter on the LinkedIn app, you will receive an InMail about the missed call, and you can follow up with the recruiter directly through that message.
