Understand InMail credits in Sales Navigator

Last updated: 3 months ago

As a Sales Navigator user, you’re allocated 50 InMail credits per month to send InMail messages. InMail messages are private messages that enable you to connect with any LinkedIn user without requiring an introduction or contact details, so you can engage with potential leads and facilitate conversations to enhance your sales efforts.

How InMail credits are allocated

You’ll receive a new allocation of InMail credits on the first day of each month (in UTC time). The grant date for InMail credits is separate from the date you received a Sales Navigator license or the date of your initial account sign-up, if you made the purchase online. If your InMail credits have not been renewed by the second day of the month, please contact support.

Important to know

At this time, you can’t purchase additional InMail credits. All Sales Navigator subscription types provide the same number of credits.

You can accumulate up to 150 total InMail credits; unused credits will transfer to the following month and must be used within 90 days.

How InMail credits work

In addition to the monthly allocated credits, you will also receive an InMail credit for every InMail message that receives a response within 90 days of the date sent. InMail messages that don't receive a response won't get credited back.

If you send a second InMail to the same person before receiving a response, another InMail credit will be used. An automatic reminder is sent to the recipient within three days of the InMail being sent.

Keep in mind, if you cancel your subscription or change your subscription type, your InMail credits won’t be transferred.

How auto replies work towards InMail credits

Auto replies to InMail messages count as a response. "Interested" and "Maybe later" are considered accepted messages, while "Not interested" is recorded as declined. All three responses are eligible for a credit back, which you'll receive immediately upon the recipient's response.

Important to know

You can only edit or delete a message within 60 minutes of sending the message. If your sent message receives a response (including auto replies), your InMail credit will be refunded. However, if you delete an InMail that hasn’t received a response, no InMail credit will be credited back to you.
