Configuring your LMS is the first step in the integration process. If you’re the LinkedIn Learning administrator or the LMS administrator in the organization, you can set this up via self-serve or through a Technical Consulting (TC)-assisted configuration call.

• Self-serve: We highly recommend admins configure via self-serve and leverage the technical documentation that includes detailed steps for each LMS provider as well as troubleshooting tips to ensure a seamless process.
• TC-assisted configuration calls: If you run into any issues or have questions on the Implementation, please inform your CSM to schedule a call to engage a technical consultant.

• For Moodle and D2L: Configuration of your LMS can start now. Please review the technical documentation to assist with setup. We recommend self-serve by leveraging the technical documentation below. However, if you run into any issues or have general questions pertaining to the integration, please partner with your CSM to schedule a call to engage a technical consultant.
• For Canvas and Blackboard: Configuration of your LMS will start on June 15, 2022. Please review the technical documentation to assist with your setup. We recommend self-serve on June 15th onwards by leveraging the technical documentation below. • Custom LMS compatible with LTI 1.3: If you’re using another LMS provider outside of this list that is compatible with LTI 1.3, notify your CSM so our team can scope the requirements and timeline.

Yes. LTI supports profile association.

LTI requires JIT (just-in-time) provisioning and is automatically configured. This means that on the first successful LTI authentication, LinkedIn Learning automatically creates a user profile if a user does not already exist.

Yes. You can enable both authentication options at the same time, but we’d recommend you consult your dedicated Technical Consultant before using this method. You might unintentionally create duplicate accounts if the same group of users has access to both LTI and a second SSO connection.

LinkedIn Learning’s LTI 1.3 Advantage creates a secure and scalable LMS integration for higher education instructors to streamline course-building and manage student outcomes, thus enhancing the student learning experience.

LinkedIn Learning’s LTI 1.3 and LTI Advantage integration reports video completions, course progress, and course completions to your LMS. For course progress, we send an update whenever a video in the course is completed. For example, if a course has 5 videos, then we send a “course progress” update after the learner finishes watching each video, along with a final “course completion” update once the learner has watched the entire course.

Students have a rich preview experience of content. They can see the course title, thumbnail, and description, so they know what to expect. Additionally, students can view LinkedIn Learning content within the LMS, without having to visit the LinkedIn Learning platform.
