A big step forward for the digital assets industry and U.S. banking. ZKsync x BitGo are partnering to deliver a production-ready solution for tokenized deposits, combining secure custody with private, compliant blockchain settlement. Tokenized deposits enable banks to modernize payments and treasury operations while keeping funds within the banking system and aligned with existing regulatory frameworks. To operate in production, financial institutions need more than a blockchain. They require secure custody, operational controls, and compliant execution environments. This partnership brings these components together into a complete, enterprise-grade solution allowing banks to issue, transfer, and settle tokenized deposits without building complex infrastructure internally.

$600 billion in bank deposits might soon move to Ethereum, powered by ZKsync. Last week, a consortium of regional U.S. banks disclosed that ZKsync’s Prividium, a permissioned Ethereum Layer-2, will serve as the blockchain infrastructure for its tokenized deposit platform. Dubbed the Cari Network, it will support a consortium that has been forming since September 2025, including banks such as Huntington Bancshares, First Horizon, M&T Bank, KeyCorp, and Old National Bancorp. We spoke with Gene Ludwig, Founder and CEO of the Cari Network, and Alex Gluchowski, Co-Founder and CEO of Matter Labs, to better understand: - How the Cari Network is structured - How governance is set up - How the network aims to scale See our conversation in the slideshow below. 📬 For more exclusive coverage on tokenization, stablecoins, and regulation, subscribe to 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗴 at blockstories(.)io.
