Better, Period.

About us

At Comma, we’re revolutionizing period care by rethinking what’s possible when science, sustainability, and self-advocacy come together. We believe periods are powerful. They’re not a footnote in healthcare, but a vital sign. Better care starts with better data, and everyone deserves access to both. We’re building the future of menstruation: clinically informed, environmentally conscious, and radically user-first.

Today I presented my Master of Public Health thesis titled "Building a Smarter Way to Screen for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS): A Data-Driven Validation Study" at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. This research is deeply personal, informed by my own experience living with PCOS. My personal experience shaped the questions I asked, the way I approached this research, and my commitment to improving how this condition is understood and identified. Through this study, I explored how we can improve screening by integrating data-driven approaches with more comprehensive symptom recognition, ultimately working toward earlier, more accurate detection that is also accessible and user-centered. PCOS is often underdiagnosed and misunderstood, and this work reinforced how critical it is to build tools that not only reflect clinical rigor, but also empower individuals to better understand and advocate for their health. I’m incredibly grateful to my mentors, collaborators, and peers who supported me throughout this journey. This would not have been possible without you. A special thank you to the entire Comma team, Miller Morris, Melissa Gauck, Molly Moreau, Hannah Harrell, and Amanda Morin for your support and for the meaningful work we are building together. For those interested, a full recording of my thesis presentation is available: https://lnkd.in/gdPzh4_q This is just the beginning 🤍 #MPH #PublicHealth #WomensHealth #PCOS #HealthEquity #DigitalHealth

  • Go team go!

Invisible diagnostics are health’s next domain. Adopted by 44% of Americans, wearables are a staple in wellness circles. Yet, those who might benefit most—including older adults, low-income populations, and individuals with cardiovascular disease—are least likely to use them. Evolving beyond status symbols and wellness metrics, the next wave of tools will be both invisible and clinical, making DTC disease monitoring seamless. 🚽 Analyzing excretion, Throne’s clip-on toilet device monitors hydration, gut health, and more. 🦷 Attaching to teeth, Lura Health’s noninvasive microsensor analyzes saliva to track hundreds of markers, including glucose and electrolyte levels. 🪥 Upgrading oral care, Feno’s smart toothbrush warns of inflammation and decay, linking periodontal symptoms to broader bodily dysfunction. 🩸Turning tampons into blood tests, Comma pairs subscription personal care products with a HIPAA-compliant reproductive health tracking platform. 👂Tracking bloodflow to the head, Lumia™’s in-ear tech monitors difficult-to-prove orthostatic conditions like POTS and Long COVID. With smart contact lenses, gait-tracking insoles, medical hearables, magic mirrors, and implantables likely on the way, we’re entering the era of ambient health intelligence. An antidote to over-optimization and tech addiction, the future of health tracking should be integrated into everyday products, making prevention a passive pursuit. Giving people time and attention back while alleviating health anxiety, invisible disease monitoring tech could be the industry’s biggest breakthrough yet. The next unicorns won’t be wellness devices — they’ll be reimbursable diagnostics with lifestyle-level UX. 📖 Read the full Fitt Insider report → https://lnkd.in/eUmpbTiJ

  • 🎉 Our PCOS Condition Monitoring Tool within Sara™ is Here! Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) affects 7–10% of U.S. women of reproductive age (~5–6 million people), and nearly 47% see three or more doctors before receiving a diagnosis. If you’ve ever struggled with unpredictable cycles, fatigue, or hormonal symptoms, you know how frustrating and isolating it can feel. That’s why we built the PCOS Condition Monitoring Tool within Sara™. It’s a guided series of questions designed to help you start making sense of your symptoms and patterns. Available to users who have marked PCOS in their profile, it helps you walk into your next doctor’s appointment feeling prepared and informed. PCOS isn’t one-size-fits-all. Many people are dismissed or told to “just manage it,” but your experience is unique and deserves attention. This tool is here to help you track what matters, feel seen, and take the next steps in your care with confidence. At Comma, we believe that menstrual data should be more than numbers—it should empower you to understand your body, guide conversations with your doctor, and support your health journey. Building Comma has always been about more than products. It’s about creating the standard of care I wish had always existed. I spoke with Hannah Herner at the Nashville Post about why menstrual data deserves the same protections as medical data, what inspired Sara, and why I’m building this company in a city that sits at the center of U.S. healthcare. Grateful for the chance to share what’s next!
