Today I presented my Master of Public Health thesis titled "Building a Smarter Way to Screen for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS): A Data-Driven Validation Study" at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. This research is deeply personal, informed by my own experience living with PCOS. My personal experience shaped the questions I asked, the way I approached this research, and my commitment to improving how this condition is understood and identified. Through this study, I explored how we can improve screening by integrating data-driven approaches with more comprehensive symptom recognition, ultimately working toward earlier, more accurate detection that is also accessible and user-centered. PCOS is often underdiagnosed and misunderstood, and this work reinforced how critical it is to build tools that not only reflect clinical rigor, but also empower individuals to better understand and advocate for their health. I’m incredibly grateful to my mentors, collaborators, and peers who supported me throughout this journey. This would not have been possible without you. A special thank you to the entire Comma team, Miller Morris, Melissa Gauck, Molly Moreau, Hannah Harrell, and Amanda Morin for your support and for the meaningful work we are building together.
