  • #TheDayWithTrae - Canadian author O’Nell Agossa virtually joined host Trae Holiday on a recent episode of “The Day With Trae” to discuss his new book, “Curiosity and I: Let Curiosity Guide You.” The work, which blends fiction with memoir, is a product of Agossa’s three-year personal period where he intentionally chose to embrace his heart’s desires. The author grounded his work in behavioral science, articulating two distinct forms of curiosity: epistemic curiosity, described as the dopamine rush from solving a puzzle, and perceptual curiosity, which shatters one’s existing understanding with new information. Agossa advocated for curiosity not as a one-time event, but as a lifelong practice rooted in three core principles: curiosity is honest, curiosity is active, and curiosity compounds. For Agossa, embracing true curiosity means observing and actively participating in the universal concept that everything is always changing. He explained that the ultimate benefit of this practice is its power to ground oneself, arguing that it pulls people back to the present moment. “Curiosity and I: Let Curiosity Guide You” is currently available worldwide through Amazon. Catch “The Day With Trae” Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 11 a.m. on all Converge streaming platforms. #WWConverge #TDWT #Curiosity

  • Who’s ready for some HBCU action at T-Mobile Park? The second annual HBCU Seattle Series is returning Sunday, March 8 when the Emerald City’s own Seattle U Redhawks take on the Jackson State Tigers. Get ready for the sound, the culture, and the elite athleticism straight from the heart of HBCU baseball. The three-game series’ undeniable impact of expanding access and opportunity to baseball is formidable, reminding us of the legacy of the 2023 HBCU Swingman Classic. Board President of the community-rooted nonprofit Baseball Beyond Borders (BBB) Cemal Ford explained that the Swingman Classic demonstrated a strong demand for HBCU culture and representation in the Northwest, setting the bar high for the electric energy that HBCU baseball could generate in the Emerald City. Beyond the spirit, the Swingman Classic proved the remarkable strength and interest of the local Black community in baseball. With over 10,000 attendees flooding T-Mobile Park in 2023, the Classic’s overwhelming turnout motivated BBB to create a recurring way to extend its impact, leading to the creation of the annual Seattle Series as a platform for ongoing HBCU representation and access to baseball and softball in the Northwest. “The HBCU Swingman Classic showed us what is possible, now we carry the legacy forward,” President of BBB Bookie Gates said. In collaboration between Seattle U, the Seattle Mariners, and BBB, the 2026 HBCU Series’ three-game series will play out as follows: Games 1 and 2: Friday and Saturday at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue. Game 3 Finale: Sunday, March 8, at T-Mobile Park. Secure your tickets now at the link in our bio and be part of the legacy. See you at T-Mobile Park! #HBCUSeattle #BaseballBeyondBorders #Mariners #HBCU #Baseball

  • On a special episode of “We Live In Color,” host Deaunte Damper visited McCaw Hall to talk with key forces in Seattle Opera’s production “Fellow Travelers.” Running through Sunday, March 1st, “Fellow Travelers” features two powerhouse singers and performers playing queer love interests, Jarrett Ott and Colin Aikins, under the direction of Kevin Newbury. Proclaimed “the gay La Boheme,” “Fellow Travelers” is set in Washington D.C. during the 1950s Lavender Scare, and chronicles a clandestine romance between Hawkins "Hawk" Fuller, a politically connected State Department official, and Timothy Laughlin, an idealistic young journalist. The narrative explores the tension between political ambition and personal identity during a period when queer government employees faced systemic termination under a 1953 executive order signed by President Eisenhower. Directed by Kevin Newbury, who developed the opera alongside composer Gregory Spears and librettist Greg Pierce, the production arrives in Seattle as part of its 10th-anniversary tour. Ott and Aikins highlighted the intense emotional journey of their characters, noting the resonance the story holds for the queer community regarding resilience and the ongoing struggle for authenticity. Get your tickets to see “Fellow Travelers” at McCaw Hall through Sunday, March 1st here. Watch “We Live In Color” Thursdays at 8 p.m. on all Converge Media streaming platforms.
