Ayn Rand instills unyielding self-determination, shifting your focus from seeking permission to claiming space with quiet confidence, especially in male-dominated arenas where women often wait for an invitation. Women who act decisively – pursuing high-visibility projects, voicing strategies in key meetings, or negotiating terms without waiting for nods – redefine boundaries through undeniable results, earning respect that preempts objections and builds momentum. This approach sidesteps unnecessary roadblocks, speeds your progress, and shows others the power of confident action. Take a moment to identify one opportunity where you've paused for approval and advance on it today. Your bold initiative will reshape what's expected of you, and your momentum will shift the perceptions around you. Cassie Kozyrkov: Leading Decision Intelligence at Google Cassie Kozyrkov is a highly distinctive voice in modern tech because she made decision-making itself a discipline. As Google’s first Chief Decision Scientist, she was not just talking about AI in the abstract; she was helping one of the world’s largest companies think more clearly about uncertainty, evidence, and execution. Her work focused on teaching teams how to make better choices with data, how to avoid common reasoning errors, and how to separate intuition from decision quality. That made her influence unusually broad, because she was shaping not just one product or one department, but the way thousands of employees approached problem-solving... A Cornell University research review found that 10 to 30 minutes of sitting or walking outdoors produces measurable drops in cortisol and blood pressure. Not "you might feel calmer." Measurable, physiological change. Meanwhile, over 60% of U.S. adults spend five hours or fewer outside in nature each week. For most desk-bound professionals, the real number is closer to zero, because commuting and parking garages don't count. The research is specific about what works: somewhere with a sense of green space, 10 to 30 minutes, without a screen. A park, a courtyard, a campus lawn. The benefits plateau around 50 minutes, so this isn't about long hikes. It's about a threshold most people in senior roles never reach on a typical workday. For leaders running on sustained pressure, chronically elevated cortisol isn't a distant risk. It's what quietly degrades memory, sleep, and decision quality over time. The physiology of recovery isn't optional, it's what makes sustained performance possible. The leaders who last aren't the ones who pushed through indefinitely. They're the ones who figured out that recovery is part of the job. Read the full article here: 10 Minutes Outside Lowers Cortisol and Blood Pressure. Most Leaders Never Find the Time. https://lnkd.in/g-RBrQcP

This week, we're spotlighting three women who know what it means to earn a seat at the table and then make the most of it once they're there. Pat O'Donnell spent decades building credibility across banking, government services, and fintech by doing the work, paying attention, and eventually learning the lesson that transformed her career: great work gets noticed when you bring it to the right people's attention. Beth Toenies became the world's only female president of a lens company at 26, led a 120-company acquisition that drove 40% growth, and has spent her career learning, then teaching, one essential truth: you don't have to shrink yourself to succeed. Nidhi Bagri has built high-performing sales teams across some of the biggest names in enterprise software and led a 48-hour crisis response that kept dialysis patients connected to care during the first weeks of the pandemic. Her perspective on leading through influence rather than authority is worth reading twice. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/g2ieaDSK
