Where do you consume media? For many, the answer includes a variety of platforms including YouTube, social media, podcasts, and broadcast. Teams across GBH have integrated digital platforms into their production strategies to ensure that content from units from ANTIQUES ROADSHOW to GBH News are reaching audiences wherever they are. And, it's working. Early adopters of YouTube — especially FRONTLINE PBS — have reaped the benefits of YouTube’s reach for the better part of a decade. The flagship investigative news program boasts more than 3.24 million subscribers, its videos regularly eclipse 1 million views, and the channel livestreams documentaries 24/7. “Since I began here as an intern,” says Tory Starr, GBH’s Senior Director of Digital Content, “my work has revolved upon this idea that there are new ways to tell stories, and we should embrace them. The ways people consume media change faster than we think, and adapting how and where we tell stories to truly meet our mission is super important.” Take a look behind the curtain of GBH's YouTube push: https://bit.ly/4snS3G2

The final episode of "Catching The Codfather" from GBH News drops this Wednesday. Host and producer of the latest season of "The Big Dig," Ian Coss, joined Outside for a behind the scenes look at the podcast. Outside: In an era of polarized narratives and media skepticism, how do you think podcasts like "The Big Dig," and this season of it, can push listeners to think more deeply about complicated questions and stories? Coss: "I really don’t like preaching to the choir. I don’t like telling stories that just kind of support or reinforce people’s existing worldviews. ...That’s why the story of someone like Carlos Rafael really appeals to me. It’s an exercise in empathy—whether or not you agree with him, whether you think what he did is right or wrong—to try to understand the world the way he sees it. I’m not out to convince people that fishing regulation is wrong or that government regulation has gone too far, but I am interested in poking at people’s assumptions and instincts."

"The World" from GBH and PRX is celebrating its 30th year of breaking news, first-class environmental reporting, and deeply human stories from all corners of the globe. With co-hosts Marco Werman and Carolyn Beeler at the helm, the program has become an essential listen for Americans that want to know more about what's happening around the world. "What makes 'The World' so vital today is its unwavering commitment to providing a perspective that moves beyond the American bubble. In an increasingly interconnected and complex global landscape, we don't just report the headlines; we deliver the human context and the ground truth that Americans need to understand their own place and impact on the planet. Continuing this work is not a luxury — it's essential for fostering informed citizenship and a truly global outlook in a democracy," said Tinku Ray, Executive Editor for "The World." With the benefit of years of work to look back on, Beeler and Werman shared some lightning round questions about their tenures on the show, highlights from their time on the road, and, of course, some travel advice.
