📢 We’re hiring: Operations & Compliance Associate (or Senior Associate) We Build Progress is looking for a detail-oriented, systems-minded operations professional to help strengthen the financial, HR, governance, and compliance infrastructure that powers our work — and the work of our sibling organization, Progressive Caucus Action Fund. 📍 Location: Washington, DC (weekly in-person tasks required) 💰 Salary: $77,514–$84,647 (NPEU-represented bargaining unit) 🏥 Benefits: 100% employer-paid health, dental & vision; 5% 401(k) match; 20 vacation days + generous leave; paid parental leave In this role, you’ll: • Support financial operations, payroll, and audit processes • Help manage nonprofit compliance across 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) entities • Coordinate board and governance logistics • Strengthen HR systems and onboarding processes • Partner closely with senior leadership to improve internal infrastructure We’re seeking someone with 6–8 years of experience in nonprofit operations, finance, HR, or compliance — strong GAAP knowledge, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to equity and progressive values are key.
