VHCA-VCAL members made important visits with General Assembly budget conferees today to talk about the critical need for Medicaid funding for resident care. Thank you to Sen. Todd Pillion, Del. Betsy Carr, and others for listening. After spinal surgery left her paralyzed, Brenda never gave up. With determination, faith, and the support of her care team at Friendship Health and Rehabilitation in Roanoke, she kept walking toward her goal. Now she’s preparing to walk back into her own home. Stories like Brenda’s remind us of what hometown compassionate care looks like every day.

Tatyana believes care should feel joyful, and it shows in everything she does. As a social worker at The Boulevard Post Acute in Fairfax, she brings energy, creativity, and fun into her community, helping residents stay connected and engaged every day. Moments like these happen when caregivers have the support they need to focus on what matters most, people.
