Last Thursday, VelocityTX welcomed more than 100 interns from the Students + Startups Internship Program as part of the organization’s immersion week experience. During their visit, students had the opportunity to learn more about VelocityTX and our vision for an Eastside Innovation District, as well as the growing bioscience and technology ecosystem helping shape the future of San Antonio. The group also heard from campus tenant Brian O'Mara, Vice President of Process Sciences at Velocity Bioworks, who shared insights into the company's work and the role biotechnology and innovation play in advancing healthcare and manufacturing. Many thanks to everyone who joined us, and best of luck to each of you as you begin your summer internships. We can’t wait to see the impact you’ll make! #internship #innovationecosystem #bioscienceinnovation #workforcedevelopment

The Spurs are hours away from a potential elimination game. But I'm not thinking about tonight's score. I'm thinking about what this franchise has already built, and what it should teach San Antonio's startup ecosystem. Manu Ginobili. David Robinson. Pop. They didn't just win championships. They built a wisdom transmission system that outlasted every roster. Our best founders need to do the same. New article 👇

Eastside Community: We Want To Hear From YOU! As San Antonio prepares for major investments on the near Eastside, community feedback is critical to ensuring that future infrastructure improvements reflect neighborhood priorities and create lasting benefits for Eastside residents and businesses. That’s why we’ve partnered with San Antonio for Growth on the Eastside (SAGE) and LISC San Antonio to review existing plans, identify neighborhood and commercial gaps, develop community-driven priorities, and ultimately, inform the City’s next bond cycle. Join us next Monday, June 1 at the Davis-Scott Family YMCA and let your voice be heard as we shape the infrastructure that will shape our future. GO SPURS GO! 🏀 The silver and black faithful showed up and showed out at The Espee Tuesday night for an unforgettable Game 5 watch party! 🖤🤍 While it wasn’t the outcome we wanted on the court, it was a great reminder of what makes San Antonio so special: coming together with friends, neighbors, and fellow fans to cheer on our beloved Spurs. A huge thank you to our partners at San Antonio for Growth on the Eastside (SAGE), ATG Entertainment, and the City of San Antonio Downtown for helping make the night such a memorable community celebration. This morning, the VelocityTX team joined board members Mickie Williams, CBCP and Michelle Lugalia-Hollon for the 2026 State of the Eastside breakfast. Attended by stakeholders from across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, the event explored the future of economic development, opportunity, and investment on San Antonio's Eastside. Special thanks to Keynote Speaker and Bexar County Commissioner Tommy Calvert for recognizing our work in the Eastside Access and Infrastructure Initiative alongside our partners at San Antonio for Growth on the Eastside (SAGE) and LISC San Antonio. This work is rooted in collaboration, and we're honored to help drive infrastructure, access, and economic momentum for the Eastside community. Thanks also to today's panelists — Cody Davenport, Cassandra Parker-Nowicki, and Dr. Adena Loston — for for the insights you brought to the conversation. Oh, and let's not forget the morning's *very* special guest: the San Antonio Spurs Coyote. 🐺🏀 Hats off to event host SAGE for putting on another terrific State of the Eastside breakfast, and for your continued leadership in advancing growth, partnership, and possibility across the Eastside--and shout out to one of our very own, VelocityTX COO Jessica L. Harris, for your service on the SAGE board and dedication to this important work. #economicdevelopment #inclusiveopportunity #eastsidesatx
