Aerospace supplier Intergalactic used metal #3Dprinting technology by Velo3D to dramatically decrease the time it takes to turn a design into a working aircraft component. As Vanesa M. Listek reports, Velo3D’s Sapphire XC system was used to produce critical parts for an aircraft heat exchanger system in just a few weeks.

Vigoride 7 is heading to orbit with a Velo3D printed fuel tank on board. Momentus' upcoming mission carries 10 demonstration payloads for NASA, DARPA, the Air Force Research Laboratory, and commercial partners. Among them: an additively manufactured fuel tank we printed using our Rapid Production Solution. It's one thing to print a part. It's another to send it to space! Read more: https://lnkd.in/gJYmSZYh

Intergalactic leveraged our Rapid Production Solution (RPS) to produce Inconel 718 microtube heat exchanger headers for an aviation program with aggressive test deadlines. The result: complex geometries printed as designed, minimal supports, no design concessions and a foundation for distributed manufacturing across any validated Sapphire system worldwide. That's what we built RPS for. Link to full press release: https://lnkd.in/gxqXCFU6

Each U.S. military branch continues to progress in the use of #3Dprinting, which clearly shows the #AM industry's technical maturity. The latest example is Velo3D, which was recently chosen as the first #additivemanufacturing vendor supporting the U.S. Army DEVCOM Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC). Matt Kremenetsky reports.
