Chief Operating Officer @ Rekord The Verifiable Data Standard | Trust Layer | RWA | AI | Private Credit

Excited to share a major step forward: Rekord AG has partnered with VeChain to bring the Digital Product Passport (DPP) from concept into real-world execution. The DPP is more than a regulatory box to check. It defines a new generation of trusted products—where provenance, sustainability data, ownership, and lifecycle value are embedded directly into the asset. This is blockchain shifting from theory to infrastructure. VeChain has long led the way in enterprise-grade sustainability and supply-chain intelligence. Pairing their mature ecosystem with the Rekord AG product suite and execution focus creates a powerful combination: #verifiable #data rails for brands, manufacturers, and consumers, delivered through scalable standards. This collaboration unlocks: • A unified system for authenticated product metadata • Automated #compliance and #ESG reporting • New value layers for consumer engagement and secondary markets • A practical path for enterprises to adopt #Blockchain tech without added complexity Proud of the teams bringing this to life. The next chapter of trusted commerce is taking shape—and accelerating quickly. More to come (until then)... • Most chains talk about RWAs as a trend. VeChain has partnered with Rekord AG to strengthen the infrastructure needed for real rules coming to Europe. From 2026, the ESPR (Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation) framework will require large companies to provide verified Digital Product Passports. That means they’ll need systems that can capture and anchor product information without breaking existing operations. VeChainThor’s 100% uptime since 2018 and Rekord’s API-first approach make that possible, letting manufacturers secure data on-chain without replacing core systems. This is the type of RWA rollout tied to real-world needs - not hype cycles, further cementing VeChain as infrastructure for industries that need compliance and traceability at scale.

We’ve just wrapped up the first VeChain Builders workshop with the Computer Science department at University College Dublin, led by Assistant Professor Dimitris Chatzopoulos and VeChain's Victor Bibiano & Kostas Apostolopoulos. Over 40 students across BSc, MSc and PhD programs registered to explore how blockchain can be applied to real-world problems on VeChain. For many, this was their first structured introduction to blockchain and an opportunity to learn new technology in a hands-on, practical way. This workshop is part of a broader VeChain initiative to share knowledge and give the next generation of developers meaningful experience in blockchain, with more locations and online learning opportunities already lined up. All workshop materials, along with additional courses and resources, are available through VeChain Academy: https://lnkd.in/dXRrHjdQ Shout out to RZLT | REZOLUT for supporting us in this initiative.

It was a busy week for VeChain in New York - and an interesting one. To both the institutions/crypto leadership we met with at The Tie, and the tech enthusiasts, fans and athletes that joined us at the Ultimate Fighting Championship, I was pulled to say the same thing: It is time to be careful with crypto. Indeed, the market sentiment from some of the largest institutions down to the individual projects and startups is that we've re-entered a "Wild West" of profit-chasing, rug-pulling, over-leveraging, destructive behavior in crypto. This greed is, sadly, a part of human nature... which is why we need regulations. The US reversed years of unfriendly rules, which has been and could be great for crypto. But now we need "friendly" regulation to speed up too. Otherwise, retail users/investors (and even entire crypto communities and projects) will continue to be squeezed for profit. We at VeChain believe that web3 and crypto have the power to drastically improve our society. For example, we partnered with UFC because we want more people to know about the life-changing potential of this technology. But right now, it is time to be extremely careful and vet what you engage with thoroughly. There's just too much going on behind the scenes (DeFi protocols, memecoins.... etc). Best to ask yourself: Is that token/project/dApp offering real utility, or just the promise of profit? And to my fellow builders, founders, crypto leadership: We HAVE to stay focused on building systems that serve people first. We need to refuse to let these bad actors steer the entire direction of the space. Otherwise they will set us back years - if not get us shut us down entirely.

  • VeChain has completed the required MiCA‑related submissions for the updated VET and VTHO white papers as part of the Hayabusa upgrade; both documents are available for stakeholders across the EU single market. This reflects VeChain’s ongoing commitment to meet MiCA requirements and maintain continuous regulatory alignment. What’s included? - A single, MiCA‑aligned source of truth covering VET, VTHO and the Hayabusa hard fork - Details on the DPoS model (VIP‑253) and refreshed VTHO token economics (VIP‑254) within VeChain’s dual‑token framework MiCA sets harmonized expectations for disclosures and risk transparency across 27 EU Member States. With the recent submissions complete and documentation refreshed, VeChain is positioned to advance Hayabusa responsibly, supporting real‑world adoption and long‑term resilience.

In case you were wondering - VeChain does not, and never has, had a fund freeze feature. Hidden or otherwise. 👏 Yesterday, Bybit came out with a factually incorrect report that claimed several blockchains have the ability to "freeze" funds. (If you're thinking that this feature doesn't sound very decentralized, you'd be right.) Unfortunately, this inaccurate report - generated in part by an "AI-assisted detection system" - has, at least in the case of VeChain, mixed up the ability to block transactions vs. the ability to freeze funds. Our community did, in 2019, vote and approve a blocklist to keep funds from a theft from moving on-chain. This kept the thief from being able to use the stolen assets. They were not, however, seized or re-allocated. → What we did: Empower the community to reject the transaction of stolen funds. Decentralized governance at its best. → What we did not, and never will do: Seize, freeze, move or otherwise take control of user funds. I.e., unlike what Bybit was asking for in March of this year after their $1.4 billion hack by the Lazarus Group 👍 Interesting as well that Bybit gave their security lab the same name - "Lazarus." 15,000 users. 250,000+ on-chain transactions. 86 million minutes of screen time saved. That's 160 years of life given back. Thanks to Restify. But here's what actually made this possible: Web3 lets everyone build without the bureaucracy. No contracts with international collaborators. No payment processing nightmares across borders. No months of legal tape. Just code, clear rules, and instant rewards. Users sign up. Complete verified sessions. Get rewarded in tokens. All provable on-chain. This is what Web3 is actually good for - removing friction that has nothing to do with the product and everything to do with outdated infrastructure. Follow Untangling Web3 - the podcast that simplifies tomorrow's tech, today.
