A team of UT Dallas engineering students is headed to NASA’s Johnson Space Center to present a redesigned lunar tool-cart handle built for future moon missions. Team Laika’s prototype focuses on astronaut safety, ergonomics and functionality in extreme lunar conditions and will even be tested in NASA’s Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory. UT Dallas alumnus Ben Collerton MS’23 is helping lead genetic engineering work at Colossal Biosciences, where scientists are developing technologies aimed at bringing extinct species like the dodo and woolly mammoth back to life.
