Today we launch 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘀 & 𝗔𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘀: 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹-𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽. At its heart is one question: how can groups of schools meet the distinct needs of each community they serve? What should a school gain by being part of a group? And what must it hold on to? -The 𝗻𝗲𝘁 is the school group: its shared strength, relationships and collective learning. -The 𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘀 are the schools, rooted in the communities they serve. In this classroom example shared by Trevor MacKenzie, learners used peer feedback to revisit their butterfly drawings. Collège du Léman - International School was well represented at the International Baccalaureate (IB) global conference #IBGC26 on the theme of Shared learning, shared futures: I was happy to join our high school team for three days of inspiring keynotes and practical workshops. The opportunity to create my first AI-tutor in Toddle - Your Teaching Partner , to reflect on the four models of engagement from Rebecca Winthrop as used by both the IB General Director in his session and Julie Higounet 🌱 in her keynote on Universal Design for Learning (CUA in French), or to see how much progress the IB Francophone made since my years at LYCEE INTERNATIONAL DE LOS ANGELES . I was grateful to Dr Luke Roberts (Complexity Thinking) for acknowledging the events in France and reminding us of the words or Martin Luther King: ‘A riot is the language of the unheard’. And of course, dozens of conversations on education with some of the 1,800 participants who came to Lyon this year. I look forward to seeing some of the applications of what my colleagues have learned impacting what students experience in our classrooms.
