Can you believe it’s already been two weeks since the Prolific North Champions Awards? 🏆 Award nights are always nerve-wracking - and being shortlisted as an agency made this one feel especially personal.... which makes it even sweeter to say we brought home Independent Agency of the Year, alongside a Highly Commended for our TV campaign with Jorvik Tricycles! Another industry recognition, and another huge moment for the team, our clients, and the boundaries we keep pushing. 💚

AI isn't replacing our team - it's simply evolving the way we deliver work for our clients. Dave Sims has broken down how our web developers are using as part of their everyday workflows 👇

There’s been a lot of conversation recently around AI and what it means for the future of the development industry, much of it focused on replacement and uncertainty. Instead of resisting the shift, we’ve been challenging ourselves as a team to find practical ways to integrate AI into our existing workflows to improve efficiency, reduce repetitive tasks, and strengthen delivery quality, while still keeping human expertise and decision-making at the centre of the process. The recent developments around Claude Code and Codex have genuinely started to change how digital teams can operate. Not as shortcuts, but as tools that can remove friction from day-to-day delivery and allow teams to focus more time on higher-value work. Some of the workflows we’ve been implementing recently include: • AI-assisted QA and code validation We’ve been integrating stricter automated code checks into our Shopify and Wordpress workflows, helping us maintain higher coding standards, identify issues earlier, and reduce the chances of bugs making their way into production environments. By improving validation at commit level, we’re already seeing improvements in code quality and development confidence. • Automated reporting and project visibility We’ve also been exploring natural language reporting workflows to improve visibility across projects, time tracking, and delivery progress. This has helped the team spend less time manually producing reports and more time focusing on delivery, while also improving accountability and estimation tracking across projects. • Figma to Claude MCP workflows One of the most exciting areas has been integrating Figma with Claude workflows to help scaffold Shopify theme blocks and Wordpress Advanced Custom Fields components directly from design structures. The biggest benefit here isn’t simply speed. It’s that reducing repetitive setup work gives the team more freedom to focus on creativity, UX, refinement, and bespoke experiences, areas that can often become constrained when balancing ambitious design ideas against development budgets and timelines. These are still early steps, but it already feels clear that AI is going to become a valuable operational layer within modern digital teams. Not replacing people. Helping people work better. The real opportunity isn’t removing humans from the process, it’s creating workflows that allow teams to spend more time thinking creatively, solving problems, and continuing to develop new areas of expertise. The next few years are going to be really interesting for agencies willing to rethink how delivery teams operate. Curious to see how other teams are balancing AI optimisation with maintaining quality, creativity, and human oversight. #AI #WebDevelopment #ShopifyDevelopment #DigitalTransformation

Candy Kittens – This is us shooting our shot. 🍬 We’ve been a long-time fan of yours; no office fuddle is complete without a bag of Eton Mess, and we’re 100% aligned when it comes to making bold moves with brand marketing. Jamie Laing’s talk at Performance Marketing World Unlocked echoed everything we’ve been talking about in our own strategy meetings – so we already know we’re compatible. Then, you kindly sent the HUB team 100 bag of Treets to try. We couldn’t let this opportunity go without a fight. 🍫 So, this is us. We had a black turtleneck, ten minutes between client meetings, and a dream. We’re just a full-service marketing agency, standing in front of the UK’s best vegan sweet brand, asking for a single meeting. Slide us a DM? 💚

If you manage an ecommerce website, you've definitely heard of Shopify. 🛍️ As of 2026, it powers over 2.9 million live websites and nearly 5 million active merchants – that’s just over 10% of the global ecommerce market. What you might not know is just why it's so popular, and how some retailers are using it better than others. Those getting the most out of the software are usually using a Shopify Partner agency like HUB. But what does that actually mean for our team and our clients? We've outlined what it means to be a Shopify Partner and why it matters in our latest blog post - have a read 👇

Was great to attend the 10th anniversary MPTS trade show with Andrew Bland. We had a great time, met some nice people, represented HUB and learned some great insights to bring back with us. Amongst these were some fascinating Ai perspectives, taking Adobe Firefly to the next level and seeing some cool tech like autosync colour calibration screens, automated camera rigs and software for streamlining production processes. In the Ai talk on how the industry will be adapting to all the changes Ai will bring with it (The AI Shift: Where Does the Media Industry Go Next?) were representatives from Ofcom and the BBC. It gave us an optimistic outlook on the creative future Ai will bring.

When digital performance plateaus, where do ambitious brands go next? 📺 For Jorvik Tricycles, the answer was TV advertising. At yesterday’s Northern Marketing Festival, our fireside chat with James Walker explored how the brand moved beyond rising PPC costs and unlocked new growth through integrated media strategy. The session was a powerful reminder that real momentum happens when brand marketing, media and customer experience work together, not in silos. The impact? Increased visibility, stronger engagement and customers discovering a life-changing solution they didn’t even know existed. At HUB, we’re huge believers in the power of TV advertising - even with a modest budget - so it was fantastic to hear James share his experience of taking Jorvik onto TV for the very first time. Thanks to everyone who attended the session and visited our stand – if you weren’t able to make it, you can read the run down of the day on Prolific North – link in comments 🔗
