The Medicare Advantage program is controversial among health system leaders despite its extraordinary popularity among seniors. The source of the controversy? Health systems feel like they can’t “succeed” in the program. Because for-profit health plans are hammering provider groups with utilization management that introduces painful friction to patients and their doctors. 💊 Today is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day - a great reminder to clean out that medicine cabinet and safely dispose of unused medications, especially for our seniors who often juggle multiple prescriptions.
