In 1967, a 26-year-old designer invented the at-home pregnancy test. Surrounded by corporate lawyers, she was pressured into signing over the patent for $1. Margaret Crane spent decades watching others take credit for an invention that sparked a $769M industry and fundamentally changed women's reproductive health. Katherine Laidlaw unearths this fascinating tale of stolen ideas in her latest piece: https://lnkd.in/gxBQVXxD

Did they just make Pepsi.... healthy? Well, no. But they're hopping on one of the biggest trends hitting the beverage market right now: prebiotics. Not to be outdone, The Coca-Cola Company's CEO recently mentioned that a version of coke with fiber might be their next big thing. In our latest video, Jamal Meneide dives into why Pepsi Max became a zero‑sugar phenomenon across Europe, but a flop in the U.S.: https://lnkd.in/eWrtCTvW #FoodAndBeverage #ConsumerTrends #CPG #Prebiotics #MarketingStrategy

We just threw our biggest party yet with over 2,000 people Together with our friends at The Hustle & Agree.com Every year during SXSW, we host the Secret Austin Garden Party. Thousands of founders, investors, creators, and tech professionals from all over the world come together for one night. This year was something else... Live music. A live performance from the Venmo founder, Taco trucks. Cocktails. Cotton candy. A rooftop with one of the best sunsets I've ever seen in Austin. But the most meaningful part of all this is the people I watch strangers become friends and founders pitch investors on the patio. I saw creators meet their heroes. Someone flew in from London just for this. A few thank yous: To everyone who showed up and made it what it was. To our partners, Agree.com and The Hustle, for backing us and the community To my team at Fibe, who spent months pulling this together behind the scenes. (Danielle, Vitoria, Anna, Sangavi, Maks) To the volunteers and the A-Team who helped make this happen. If you were there, thank you. If you weren't, we'll see you next year.

👟 The best networking event at #SXSW didn't have a stage, a moderator, or a $500 ticket. It had 100+ ambitious people who showed up at 8am to run through Austin with us. This is what The Hustle looks like IRL, and each event has been even better than the last. Big thanks to our partners at Founders Running Club for making it happen, and to everyone that came out to run with us! Next stop: a city near you. Subscribe to The Hustle for an invite to our next event: https://lnkd.in/eJiufGkN

🪨 Everyone's talking about rare earth elements. Few truly understand why they're so critical. Here's the short version: These 17 key elements are used in your phone, your headphones, F-35 jets, MRI machines, and EV motors. Basically every technology that matters now, or will matter in the future. China controls ~90% of global processing. The wild part? The US used to dominate this industry. We had the mines. We had the processing facilities. We had the magnets. Then an American company shared its blueprints with China to cut costs — and those blueprints ended up in a hundred factories across the country. The rest is a cautionary tale about capitalism, geopolitics, and what happens when you optimize for short-term savings in a strategic industry. The full story (including an interview with an 85-year-old industry vet who called all of this decades ago) is worth a read: https://lnkd.in/ekaR5ert #RareEarths #SupplyChain #China #CriticalMinerals
