  • We’re still reflecting on a fantastic 3Rs Sharing Conference earlier this month in Philadelphia at University of Pennsylvania, co-hosted with New Jersey Association for Biomedical Research and Pennsylvania Society for Biomedical Research (PSBR). It was a full day of thoughtful conversation and practical insights, bringing together colleagues from across academia and industry to share how the principles of Replacement, Reduction, and Refinement are shaping today’s research landscape. One message came through clearly: progress often comes from both big innovations and small, intentional changes—and collaboration is what moves it forward. Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to such an engaging event. And thank you to our presenting sponsor Charles River Laboratories and all our other sponsors & vendors! • “Culture of care” can sound abstract, but when you look closely, many of its building blocks are already part of your institution. We’ve created a printable and editable poster illustrating the four pillars of a culture of care in animal research settings, designed to help teams make this concept visible, practical, and actionable. What makes this resource different? ✅ It’s customizable—you can add your own institution-specific contacts, programs, and resources ✅ It helps teams recognize what’s already working, not just what’s missing ✅ It supports conversations across roles, from animal care staff to researchers to leadership Culture of care isn’t a single program or policy. It’s a network of practices, people, and values that often already exist—just not always connected or named. This poster is meant to help bring those pieces together. Whether you’re building momentum or strengthening what’s already in place, we hpe this helps make culture of care feel tangible and shared. Available in two sizes to download: 👉 11 x 8.5 in. - https://lnkd.in/gri3iaw5 👉 24 x 18 in. - https://lnkd.in/gRsAZ2EY #CultureOfCare #AnimalResearch #ResearchCulture #LaboratoryAnimalScience #WellbeingAtWork

  • What if you could strengthen rodent health monitoring and replace animals at the same time? Environmental Health Monitoring (EHM) is helping institutions do exactly that—using environmental samples instead of extra animals to monitor colony health. ✅ No animals ✅ Better data ✅ Lower costs ✅ Stronger 3Rs alignment Through the 3Rs Collaborative Environmental Health Monitoring Initiative, partners across academia, industry, and government have come together to build practical, evidence‑based tools to support this transition: https://lnkd.in/gHbNUTYP Available resources include: • A publication page summarizing the evidence behind EHM • Real‑world implementation guidance • Case studies from institutions that have replaced sentinels • A mentorship program pairing you with experienced EHM leaders • And more! 📊 More than 35 institutions have already replaced sentinel animals with EHM—saving time and resources while improving animal welfare and data quality. Let’s modernize rodent health monitoring—together. #3Rs #AnimalWelfare #LaboratoryAnimalScience #EnvironmentalMonitoring #EHM #Replacement #ResearchInnovation
