The Commit Partnership reposted this
Last night I attended the Forum for the Future of Texas Teachers, hosted by The Commit Partnership and D Magazine. The conversation made me think about the importance of strong teachers in our early learning grades, Pre-K through 2nd. These are the years where the foundation is built. So the question is not just how we get more teachers into classrooms. It is how we recruit strong candidates, ensure our most effective teachers are in the early grades, and support them to stay and grow. If we want different outcomes for students, we have to be intentional about who is leading learning in the years that matter most. Grateful to the team who brought this conversation together and the amazing panelists. Mimi Crume Sterling Joshua Kumler Chelsea Valdez Tami Jenkins Ed.D.
