Hands-on education. Real-world success. Purdue Polytechnic is one of the 10 academic colleges at Purdue University.
About us
The Purdue Polytechnic Institute is one of 10 academic colleges at Purdue University, offering undergraduate and graduate degrees in a wide range of disciplines: aviation, computing, construction management, engineering technology, technology leadership, and technology education. In addition to Purdue University’s main campus in West Lafayette, Indiana, Purdue Polytechnic offers select degree programs in nine Indiana communities. The academic programs combine theory-based applied learning, team-based projects, integrated humanities studies, competency-based credentialing, and a series of experiential components such as industry-sponsored senior capstone projects, internships, global immersions, and certification-earning activities. The Polytechnic learning experience is designed to produce graduates who not only have deep technical knowledge and applied skills in their chosen discipline, but also possess problem-solving, critical thinking, communications, and leadership skills sought by industries and communities. Through the vision of Purdue University, the Purdue Polytechnic Institute, and the City of Indianapolis, the first Purdue Polytechnic High School will open in August, 2017, in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, with the mission to offer the best and most beneficial educational experience for students who want to pursue high-tech and STEM-related careers. Whether delivering a transformed learning experience to produce industry-ready graduates who have the skills for today’s economy or conducting use-inspired research to advance the evolution of technology and solve real-world challenges, the Purdue Polytechnic Institute aims to be a global leader. Purdue Polytechnic was founded in 1964 as Purdue University’s School of Technology. It was renamed College of Technology in 2005, and in 2015, the Board of Trustees approved its current name in support of the college’s transformation and as part of President Mitch Daniels’ Purdue Moves initiative.

I had the incredible opportunity to celebrate Abrar Hammoud associate professor of practice in the Department of Technology Leadership & Innovation at Purdue Polytechnic, as a recipient of the Charles B. Murphy Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award. This is Purdue’s highest honor for undergraduate teaching. Selected as one of only five faculty across the university, this recognition speaks to the impact she has on students across disciplines and the learning environments she creates. A well-deserved honor. Congratulations Abrar!

What actually happens inside the IN-MaC Testbed? The Testbed is designed to take ideas from concept to completion in a way few manufacturing spaces can. With capabilities including CNC machining (turning and milling), 5 axis machining, injection molding, and full inspection, the Testbed provides a production-ready environment where ideas can move beyond theory and into real manufacturing processes. What makes the Testbed unique is its ability to partner with students, innovators, and industry collaborators to evaluate and develop products. Rather than serving as a traditional lab, the Testbed functions as a collaborative manufacturing environment where concepts are tested, processes are developed, and products can be manufactured from start to finish. At IN-MaC, the goal is simple, turn innovative ideas into real, manufacturable solutions through collaboration and advanced manufacturing technology. #ManufacturingInnovation #AdvancedManufacturing #IndustryPartnerships

🎮 That’s a wrap on our student game spotlight series. Check it out on Purdue School of Applied and Creative Computing! Over the past few weeks, we’ve highlighted games created by students in Dr. Georgios Pappas’ game development course. The games are varied from chaotic co-op adventures and atmospheric horror to experimental storytelling and fast-paced action. Each project represents months of collaboration, problem-solving, design, programming, and creativity. These student teams didn’t just study game development — they built real, fully playable experiences. Several of these titles are launching on Steam this spring, bringing work that started in the classroom to players around the world. #StudentGames #GameDevelopment #PurduePolytechnic #appliedandcreativecomputing
