This week, LinkedIn almost reported me missing. 😅 If you’ve been here with me for a while, you know I usually show up, share, engage, and enjoy the conversations we build here. But this week? Work said: “Catherine, we need you like yesterday.” Deadlines. Projects. Deliverables. At some point it felt like my to-do list had formed its own committee meeting and I was the only agenda item. Before I knew it, the week was flying by and I wasn’t here as much as I normally would be. But something beautiful still happened. Even while I was busy behind the scenes, you were still here. Engaging. Commenting. Supporting. Keeping the conversations alive. And that right there means a lot to me. Because LinkedIn is not just a platform. It’s a community. So if you liked a post, dropped a comment, shared a thought, or simply stayed connected this week Thank you. And if I didn’t respond to your comment, your message, or show up for you the way I normally do, please forgive me. It truly wasn’t intentional. This week just came with a lot behind the scenes, but I’m grateful for your patience and your support. Communities like this remind me that we’re not just building networks we’re building real connections. Thank you for being here. PS: How are you doing? And how was your week? I’d really love to hear. 😊 Catherine Abhulimen The Career Pilot

4 reasons your “Hi” is slowing down your remote career. Yes. Just “Hi.” Not your village people. Not the algorithm. Not your network. Your “Hi.” I once delayed my own work because of it. I sent: “Hi.” And waited. Refreshing Slack like my promotion was hiding inside the typing indicator. 😭 If you’re a beginner in tech or remote work, read this carefully: Your communication style is either building your visibility… or quietly reducing it. In remote teams, clarity is currency. Generic message = generic response. Clear message = fast response. If you want to be work-ready in 2026, save this 👇🏽 Context First (Open the Right Mental Tab) Never drop a “Hi” and disappear. Start with: • The project • The task • The deadline Example: “Hi James, regarding the client onboarding document due Thursday…” Immediately, he knows what mental file to open. That’s structure. That’s maturity. Clear Action (What Exactly Do You Need?) Avoid: “Please check.” Replace with: “Could you confirm if section 2 aligns with the client brief?” Specific questions get specific answers. Vague requests create delay. Clear requests move work forward. Time-Bound Close (Create Movement) Avoid: “When you’re free…” Use: “Please confirm by 2pm WAT so we can proceed.” Deadlines reduce friction. Clarity respects everyone’s time including yours. Understand What This Really Signals Work-readiness is not just tools. It’s: • Structured thinking • Initiative • Reducing confusion • Making collaboration easy Managers notice the person who: Communicates clearly. Moves projects forward. Doesn’t create unnecessary follow-ups. That’s how visibility grows in remote roles . Save this post if: You’ve ever been ignored after sending a message – You overthink emails for 30 minutes – You want to be seen as reliable, not reactive Because knowing Slack is different from knowing how to work. And beginners who master communication early? They don’t just get replies. They get respected. PS: Have you ever struggled with sending official emails. yes or no? 😅 Because half of “I’m not confident yet” is really “I don’t know if this sounds professional.” And that’s fixable 💛 Catherine Abhulimen LinkedIn Virtual Facilitator | Career Coach 💛

  • Someone with less skill than you just got hired because they started earlier. Every week, we speak to aspiring professionals who say: “I’ll start when I have more time.” “I’ll start when I feel ready.” Here’s the uncomfortable truth: readiness is a myth. While you’re waiting for the perfect time, others are learning on the job, building portfolios, and positioning themselves for opportunities. Time will pass whether you act or not. You can spend the next few months thinking about becoming a Virtual Assistant… Or you can spend the next few months building the skills and confidence to do the work. By mid-2026, you could: • Have practical VA skills • Be confident using workplace tools • Be applying for roles or working with your first client But only if you start now. At TechNiche Buildaz, we don’t sell motivation. We build workplace-ready skillsets. Virtual Assistant February Cohort 📅 Starts February 21 💻 Fully virtual | Beginner-friendly | Practical training 👉 Comment “VA” or send a DM to get full details. Your future self will thank you for starting early.

  • Most people think calling yourself a beginner makes you humble But in the remote workplace, that label is quietly slowing your growth. The truth? You can be new, but you don’t have to brand yourself as “small.” When I stopped introducing myself as “just starting out,” something shifted: People took me seriously. Opportunities doubled. And my confidence finally caught up with my skills. Here’s what I changed: 1. I replaced ‘I’m still learning’ with ‘Here’s what I can deliver.’ Suddenly, people listened differently. 2. I stopped shrinking myself in conversations. New doesn’t mean incapable. It simply means growing. 3. I showed results instead of waiting to feel ready. Execution speaks louder than experience. The takeaway? Beginners don’t win because they know everything. They win because they stop acting like they know nothing. Your career moves faster the moment your language matches your potential. If you’re building confidence, digital skills, or a remote-ready mindset, follow Techniche Buildaz there’s room for you to grow without shrinking yourself. #RemoteWork #CareerGrowth #DigitalSkills #YoungProfessionals #VirtualAssistant

  • Most people think remote work is about knowing tools… But the skill that gets you hired the fastest isn’t in any course, certification, or YouTube tutorial I learned this the hard way, I kept improving my technical skills, yet recruiters kept choosing someone else. Not because they were smarter But because they mastered something I didn’t even know was a requirement. That skill is clarity in communication. In remote work, nobody sees your effort. They only see your clarity. Clear communicators look more reliable, more organized, and more ready for responsibility even when their technical skills are average. Here are 5 simple clarity habits that will instantly change how people perceive you remotely: 1.Reply with context “Got it, I’ll send the updated report by 4pm” > “Okay”. 2. Summarize meetings in 3 lines This one habit makes you look like the most organized person in the room. 3. Use bullet points, not paragraphs Busy people love structure. 4.Acknowledge messages quickly You don’t need the answer just show you’re present. 5. End every update with ‘Next Step:’ It shows leadership and responsibility. If you master clarity, opportunities start finding you. Remote teams don’t hire the busiest person they hire the clearest one. If you want more practical skills like this to grow in the digital workplace, follow TechNiche Buildaz, where we help young professionals build the habits that make them stand out. #RemoteWorkSkills #CareerDevelopment #DigitalWorkplace #CommunicationSkills #ProfessionalGrowth
