Our SWEPCO employees had a great time at Mudbug Madness, offering insight into our programs, sharing ways to lower electric bills, and welcoming festival‑goers to our Louie the Lightning Bug selfie station. We're proud to invest in the places we call home — from powering our local communities to celebrating traditions that bring us together. #SWEPCOCares #SWEPCO #MudbugMadness2026 #SWEPCO #PowerforGood

SWEPCO brought the energy to United Way of Northwest Louisiana Day of Caring this May — and we’re honored to be the 2026 Spirit Award winner! 🎉⚡ Our team partnered with the American Red Cross to clean vehicles, reorganize spaces, and more. When our community comes together, incredible things happen — and we’re proud to be part of it.

The final step in the journey of electricity is the service line that delivers power directly to your home. SWEPCO maintains the lines, poles, and equipment leading up to your meter. Homeowners are responsible for items like the weatherhead, mast, and meter base. If these customer‑owned components are damaged during storms, a licensed electrician may be needed before SWEPCO can safely restore power. Smart meters, like the one Jermaine is installing, also play a big role in keeping your home connected and operating safely. These devices send electricity usage data automatically to SWEPCO, which helps detect unusual patterns or outages faster.

Flint Creek: Keeping the Lights On Since 1978 ⚡For nearly five decades, the Flint Creek team have helped SWEPCO deliver reliable energy to our customers. That legacy is powered by dedicated employees like Ivaunna, with 40 years of service, and Mario, who has spent 43 years at the plant — just two examples of the experience and commitment behind our operations. We’re proud of the people, the plant, and the role Flint Creek continues to play in supporting America’s energy infrastructure.

Transformers are a vital part of the system that delivers safe, reliable power to our homes and businesses. They reduce very high voltage from power lines to a lower level that can safely run your lights, TV, chargers, and more. Lineworkers like Jake and Clayton install, inspect, and maintain these critical devices to help keep electricity flowing reliably. Transformers can be found in substations, mounted on poles, or inside locked boxes on the ground. Keeping vegetation and debris away from these units is important for safety and reliability across SWEPCO’s 25,875-mile distribution system. #SWEPCO #PoweringCommunities
