Recently, Orthopedic Surgeon Adam Cien, DO, FAAOS was the first in our community to perform Stryker’s new cementless total knee replacement using a titanium alloy that looks just like gold. This material is well-suited for patients with metal sensitivity. Dr. Cien says, “Being allergic to metal doesn’t mean living with a bad knee.”

Todd Graham Fellows play an important role in clinical research at South Bend Orthopaedics. Applications are now open for the next fellows who will join in June. The program is ideal for students preparing to apply to medical school. The Todd Graham Fellowship is a comprehensive, 12-month program that provides pre-medical graduates with the opportunity to explore the fields of orthopedic, interventional pain, and podiatric medicine all while conducting real world clinical research. Fellows are mentored by Research Director Derek Yocum, PhD and SBO orthopedic surgeons. The research, writing, and shadowing opportunities are unparalleled.
