At COP30 Brazil, following a key panel on Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), our Strategic Advisor Cassandra Dewan engaged with Renato Cabral Dias Dutra, Secretary for Petroleum, Natural Gas, and Biofuels at the Ministério de Minas e Energia (MME). • This 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝗔𝗙, 𝗖𝗖𝗨𝗦, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗹’𝘀 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗼𝘄-𝗰𝗮𝗿��𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆. We support a system where CO₂ can serve multiple high-value #pathways. • With Brazil advancing new CCUS and SAF decrees during COP30, these frameworks strengthen the country’s capacity to integrate #bioenergy, carbon management, and aviation decarbonization. • To remind, 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗠𝗘’𝘀 𝗖𝗖𝗨𝗦 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗲 that informed the CCUS decree.
