  • Have you been wanting to write a book for your business? You probably already have a book and you just don't know it. Most coaches and consultants believe that writing a book means starting from scratch. They picture months of staring at a blank page and they don't know where to begin. Here's what they're missing. That keynote you've delivered a dozen times is a chapter. The framework you walk every new client through is another chapter. The stories you tell on stage that make people stop and take notes are chapters too. You've already done the hard work. You've tested your ideas in front of real audiences. You know what resonates and what doesn't. Most authors spend years figuring that out. You already have. Your book isn't far away. It's likely closer to an organizing and writing project than a starting from scratch project, and that's often the moment when working with someone who understands your world and the publishing process makes all the difference. Are you sitting on a book without realizing it? What's the one framework or idea you're known for that you've never put on paper? #writeyourbook #writingcommunity #keynotespeaking

  • Many authors think publishing a book is the finish line. It's actually the starting point. I've worked with writers and business owners who spent months or even years writing their book. They then hit "publish" and wait for sales to roll in. They don't. Here's what nobody tells you upfront: your book won't sell itself. Not on Amazon. Not anywhere. Marketing has to start well before your release date. Build anticipation, grow your audience, and create demand before the book even exists. Coaches and consultants do have an advantage that most authors don't. They already have an audience. Your speaking engagements, events, and existing clients comprise your launch team and can make a big difference. Your book probably won't make you rich from royalties, but it will become your new business card. When positioned correctly, it will become the most powerful client acquisition tool you have. That's a very different way to think about it and a much more profitable one. Are you planning to write a book? Have you thought about your marketing strategy, or has that been an afterthought? #authortips #publishing #bookmarketing

  • A cautionary tale about AI editing A client recently learned an expensive lesson about using AI to edit his manuscript. He gave ChatGPT specific instructions: check spelling, fix grammar, and look for redundancies. He downloaded the result and deleted his original file. The AI had completely rewritten his work. Active verbs became passive nouns. His 8th-grade reading level jumped to college level. His voice - the thing that made his writing unique - was gone. He's spent a week trying to reconstruct what he lost. If you're using AI tools for editing: ✓ Never delete your original file ✓ Compare the AI version line-by-line before accepting changes ✓ Remember: AI doesn't understand your voice or intent ✓ Use AI as a suggestion tool, not a replacement for human editing Your manuscript is too valuable to trust to a tool that doesn't understand what makes your writing yours. #aiediting #ai #writingcommunity #bookediting

  • Editing is an important step in the writing process, particularly for a book. Self-editing is great and should be done, but your book is your baby and your mind tends to fill in gaps that might leave your audience confused. AI is okay for editing in the initial stages, but if you're not careful, AI is likely to change your voice and possibly the meaning of what you say. A human editor is essential if you want to make a good impression and keep your voice and meaning intact. It's one thing that you nor your AI assistant can completely do on your own. #writingcommunity #bookediting

  • We live in a harsh word, and we all have challenges. The least we can do is be kind to one another. Part of that is acknowledging people. It's not hard, it doesn't take that much time, and it can mean the world to someone. - Employers, a simple message to an applicant that they didn't get a job is appreciated and shows you care instead of having them wonder what happened. - Business Owners, a simple "we've gone with someone else" beats ghosting a vendor or service provide because you don't agree with their price or found services elsewhere. - Everyone, a simple reply to an email or message, even if it's not what people hope for or want to hear, is better than silence. Your words and actions can have a profound impact on others. Make them count for the better. #bekind #dontghost #reply

  • The type of error shown in this image has become rampant, and not only does AI not often catch them, but it often creates them. Recently, a horrible event occured in my hometown, and it actually hit national news. Our mayor was speaking at a town hall meeting when he suddenly collapsed and died. The first headline I saw about the incident read: "Mayor dies while speaking at town hall meeting with many other local leaders." Not to make fun of such a serious incident, the first thing I thought was, "I wonder who else died with him?" Clarity is important. Proofread your writing. Don't take AI writing and corrections as being correct. We can do better. #grammar #proofreading #AIerrors #writingcommunity
