In times of uncertainty, imagination is essential. As Trevor Noah shared with Don Gips, “The worlds I’ve inhabited were imagined before they existed.” From the fight for democracy in South Africa to global movements, history shows us that through collective imagination, what seems impossible can become reality. In the darkest moments, it’s our bold visions of a better future that spark transformation. 🌍✨ Learn more about the exciting work of the Trevor Noah Foundation by watching the full interview: https://lnkd.in/gxFDedmq

Social innovators often focus on adapting physical, governmental, or financial infrastructure to address the existential threats facing society. But the emotional infrastructure—the human element—can sometimes get overlooked in the pursuit of change. In an increasingly divisive world, Bridges to the Future shines a light on relationships and community, allowing social innovators and entrepreneurs to show up each day with the support, connection, and humanity needed to do the work that matters most. At the 2025 Skoll World Forum, this humanity was on full display, as we made meaningful connections, nurtured our spirits, and offered grace to those around us. With space for healing and collaboration, we can build bridges across divides and face the future—together. Bridges to the Future was first screened to our community, providing a chance to witness one another in a deeper, more vulnerable way. We invite you to be inspired by these moments. 🎬 Watch the full film now: https://skoll.wf/bridgeswf Thank you to the brave participants who said YES to this invitation: Sellah Bogonko, HSC of Jacob's Ladder Africa (JLA), Alasdair Harris of ORCA - Ocean Resilience & Climate Alliance, Marcel Fukayama of Din4mo, Gary Z. It was a privilege to have Carolina García Jayaram and the Elevate Prize Foundation at #SkollWF, sharing insights and leading meaningful conversations on the future of philanthropy. We’re grateful to work alongside you, united by a shared vision for impactful change. Thank you for your contributions and for helping shift the cultural narrative toward compassion, community, and lasting impact. 🌍
Culture is power. It’s everywhere, from the media we consume to the clothes we wear. It has the power to inspire others and make world-changing impact. So why aren’t more changemakers at its center?
Philanthropy is at a pivotal moment as the world shifts in massively consequential ways. These changes can feel abstract and distant from our own lives, but still we can sense the myriad of threats that feel destabilizing and worrisome. Despite the promises of technology, we are becoming increasingly isolated and aware that division and polarization is threatening to undermine our most basic human right: the right to serve humanity and our planet. At The Elevate Prize Foundation, we are driven by the belief that connection leads to compassion and compassion leads to community. Once we feel in community, we feel compelled to protect those around us. A gateway to community building is gathering in person to share experiences and ideas, which is why our time at Skoll Foundation World Forum was deeply meaningful for Elevate. From sharing the stage with the brilliant Nick Kristof, Don Gips of Skoll Foundation, and Doug Galen of Rippleworks to speak on the future of philanthropy, to hosting our first ever High Tea with our Prize winners and funding partners, we wanted everyone who came to build intentional, lasting relationships that can help uplift us all as we weather the storms ahead. I like to believe that what we are now experiencing is a test of our humanity’s deepest need to love one another and that our role in philanthropy (which literally means "love of man") is to sow the seeds of greater love and belonging. Fostering this love and belonging means that we have to fund what others won’t. We know that popular culture - namely digital content, film, TV, and music - helps to shape behavior and systems change – and we cannot achieve lasting social change without shifting the cultural narrative. In that way, I feel extraordinarily privileged to be able to prioritize sharing the life-changing work of Elevate Prize winners with the world through visual storytelling, both at events like Skoll World Forum and online - like in these very LinkedIn posts.
