About us

What kind of care would I want for my family? Silverado's founders asked themselves that question, and the answers they found formed the foundation of the company you see today. From a single location we now have memory care centers nationwide as well as hospice care. These buttons and shirts say everything. 100 residents. All of them with Alzheimer’s or dementia. Many were turned away from other facilities before finding a home here. Silverado Beach Cities is the only specialty memory care in the South Bay — and right now, their future is uncertain. Tonight, the Beach Cities Health District board votes on a plan that would evict Silverado and vacate the campus they have called home since 2007. Families and staff are asking for one thing: a pause. A chance to find a solution that doesn’t uproot the most vulnerable members of our community. We are not against progress. We are for people. If you believe these residents deserve stability, safety, and the unique care only Silverado Beach Cities Community provides — we need your voice now. #DontEvictSilverado #SilveradoBeachCities #SilveradoMemoryCare #BCHDRedondoBeach #AlzheimersAwareness #DementiaCare #MemoryCare #SouthBay #ProtectOurResidents #SilveradoFamily

  • A note on Silverado Memory Care at the BCHD Redondo Beach campus. Many of you have seen the recent reporting on the pending lease decision affecting our Silverado community in Redondo Beach. We want to share where we stand. For nearly 20 years, Silverado has been part of the Beach Cities Health District campus, caring for residents whose cognitive needs often cannot be met by other memory care communities. The 111 residents who currently call this community home, and the families who chose us with that confidence, are at the center of every conversation we are having right now. We have proposed a path forward that preserves access to high-acuity memory care on the campus — either as a stand-alone community or in partnership with the broader redevelopment. Our goal has always been collaboration, not conflict. We are deeply grateful to BCHD for two decades of partnership and remain hopeful we can find a solution together. • "The depth of my grief is the depth of my love." In this video, a husband shares what it's been like to grieve his wife as dementia slowly changed her. And in the middle of that grief, he found something unexpected: gratitude. Because to hurt this much is to have loved that fully. This is the truth at the heart of memory care. Dementia changes the journey, but it doesn't change the love story. At Silverado, we're honored to walk alongside families through this season, holding space for both the love and the loss. #LoveIsGreaterThanFear #MemoryCare #Silverado #Caregiving

  • Love is Greater than Fear. We say these five words a lot around here, and we mean them every single time. At Silverado, love isn't a soft idea. It's the reason we do this work. Love is courage when a family is scared. Kindness when a resident is having a hard day. Compassion, patience, forgiveness, and the kind of understanding that only comes from really knowing someone. That belief shows up in everything we do. It shows up in care plans built around the person, not the diagnosis. Because the woman who loved gardening for sixty years is still that woman, and her days should reflect that. The man who never missed a Sunday game still belongs in front of the TV with his team on, snacks in hand, family beside him. We care for people, not conditions. It shows up in our team. Our caregivers, nurses, and community members are the ones holding hands, sharing laughs, and showing up day after day with their whole hearts. We do everything we can to take care of them too, because the people who pour love into our residents deserve to feel it themselves. And it shows up in the small moments. The ones that don't make headlines but make a life. A song remembered. A garden visited. A hand held just a little longer. Love really is greater than fear. And every day at Silverado, we get to prove it. 🎥 Featured in this video: our beautiful Silverado San Juan Capistrano community 💛 #LoveIsGreaterThanFear #MemoryCare #Silverado #SanJuanCapistrano #SeniorLiving

  • At Silverado, we’re surrounded by love every single day. But today, we’re pouring a little extra into the incredible mothers and mother figures in our community. Happy Mother’s Day to the women who make our world more whole. 🌷
