What happens when you introduce technologies like 3D printing or CNC into a woodworking class? It’s not just about adding new tools, it also changes the way students learn 🤓 At ShiftVET, during Activity 2, we’re seeing how traditional exercises are evolving into more hands-on, digital, and collaborative experiences. For example: 👉 A classic furniture design exercise can become a project where students: - scan real pieces - redesign digitally - prototype using 3D printing - validate the result as a group Learning becomes more closely aligned with how the industry works. Furthermore, the students themselves are participating in real projects, contributing solutions, testing technologies, and providing feedback on what works and what doesn’t. This approach not only improves technical skills but also develops key abilities such as problem-solving, teamwork, and adapting to new technologies, all of which are essential in a sector undergoing transformation. It’s not just about digitizing education, it’s also about making it more relevant 🙌 #ShiftVET #ErasmusPlus #VET #DigitalSkills #Woodworking

Woodworking has always revolved around precision, creativity, and manual dexterity 🪚 But what is changing now? 🤔 💡 Digital tools are finding their way into the sector, not to replace traditional practices, but to complement them and open our minds to new possibilities. ShiftVET explores this intersection between tradition and innovation, supporting vocational training as it adapts to the ever-changing real world🌐 #ShiftVET #ErasmusPlus #VET #DigitalSkills #Woodworking

The wood and furniture sector is evolving, and with it, Vocational Training 🖥️ ShiftVET is a project that works to help bridge the gap between traditional craftsmanship and today's digital technologies. By helping vocational trainers integrate digital tools, such as 3D printing or CNC, into carpentry training, the project helps prepare the next generation of professionals with skills for a more digital and innovative industry. Through training guides, practical learning exercises, and an online repository where all the project results can be found, ShiftVET helps educators introduce these new technologies into their classrooms while maintaining the essence of hands-on learning 🤲 But...what is the main outcome? More engaging training for students, new digital skills for teachers, and a workforce better suited to the demands of the labor market ❗ Check out the infographic to discover the key objectives, activities, and impact of the project! 👇 👀 https://lnkd.in/enWkrMsX #ShiftVET #ErasmusPlus #VET #DigitalSkills #Woodworking

Did you know that vocational training in Europe is constantly changing and improving and is becoming increasingly important in European society? 🤔 The European Commission recently launched a consultation to develop a new European strategy for VET with the aim of modernizing training systems and adapting skills to the needs of the labor market. Projects such as ShiftVET contribute directly to this goal, as, thanks to international collaboration, the project works to modernize vocational training in the wood and furniture sector, adapting curricula to the real needs of the industry and the labor market 🙌 Strengthening VET is essential not only for education, but also for innovation, competitiveness, and sustainable growth across Europe. https://lnkd.in/enGdZamF #ShiftVET #ErasmusPlus #VET #DigitalSkills #Woodworking

ShiftVET continues to move forward❗🙌 We are pleased to announce that Activity 2 of the project has begun: “Training exercises repository and students’ projects." Specifically, we are already working on sub-activity A2.1- “Open Training Exercises compilation and New Developments,” focusing on two key areas: 👉 The compilation of open-licensed exercises that can be applied in vocational training in woodworking and furniture making. 👉 The design of new exercise templates and teaching methodologies that integrate digital technologies. This phase represents a decisive step in the project. Not only will it enable the structuring of an open and free repository of teaching resources, but it will also lay the foundations for VET centers to incorporate advanced technologies into their classes in a practical and realistic way. We will soon be sharing more progress on the first materials developed and the upcoming practical sessions with teachers and students. We continue to drive the digital transformation of vocational training in wood and furniture 👩🏫 🤎 #ShiftVET #ErasmusPlus #VET #DigitalSkills #Woodworking

The first ShiftVET project newsletter is now available!!! 📣 In this edition, we share the first steps of a European project focused on promoting digital transformation in vocational training in woodworking and furniture making. What will you find in this first newsletter? 👀 - A summary of the kick-off meeting held in Spain, where the consortium defined the project roadmap. - The presentation of the report on advanced technologies with potential for vocational training in woodworking. - Three practical guides for teachers on 3D printing, 3D scanning, and CNC, available in several languages. - The internal workshops held in Spain, Italy, and Latvia with teachers, students, and industry stakeholders. This is just the beginning. In the coming months, we will be working on the development of practical exercises and teaching templates ready for use in the classroom. If you work in vocational training, in the wood-furniture sector, or are interested in digitization in traditional training environments, we invite you to read it and follow the upcoming developments closely 🪵 👩🏫 You can access the newsletter and materials on the project website 👇 https://lnkd.in/e4DWYNhB ##ShiftVET #ErasmusPlus #VET #DigitalSkills #Woodworking

As part of the ShiftVET project, we have held local workshops in our respective countries to present and validate the technology guides developed within the framework of the project. ASLAM, Riga Art and Media School (RMMT), JLCP, and CETEM have organized face-to-face sessions aimed at vocational training teachers, students, and various stakeholders, with the aim of introducing the guides and promoting dialogue on their real application in educational and professional contexts 👥 During the workshops, the key technologies worked on in ShiftVET, namely 3D printing, 3D scanning, and CNC machining, were presented, and spaces for debate were created to gather opinions, needs, and suggestions directly from end users in order to improve the guides. These activities have been essential for validating the content developed, reinforcing the practical dimension of the project, and ensuring that the guides respond to the realities of vocational training in different European contexts 📚 We continue to move forward in bringing technological innovation to training and the labor market! #ShiftVET #ErasmusPlus #VET #DigitalSkills #Woodworking

We have made progress with the ShiftVET project ‼️ The three guides on the technologies selected by the consortium, an activity that forms part of A1 of the project, are now available. After months of work, analysis, and joint validation, we have published the guides for the three technologies chosen for the project- 3D Printing, 3D Scanner and CNC. Each one takes a practical approach to the key concepts, challenges, and opportunities for application. 🌍 The guides can be downloaded in all the project languages, that are: - English - Spanish - Latvian - Italian They are now available on the project website, in the online repository, where anyone interested can consult and download them freely. We invite professionals, entities, VET centers and organizations interested in the project to visit the website and use the guides as a reference resource 👇 Link to the repository in comments. #ShiftVET #ErasmusPlus #VET #DigitalSkills #Woodworking
