Today is World Quantum Day. Most of the posts on your feed today will be about what quantum computing will eventually break. Those posts are not wrong. But they are answering yesterday's question. The harder question, and the one that actually matters, is what takes the place of the security model we have been relying on for forty years. Patching old math with harder math buys time. It does not change the model. Trust is the next infrastructure. Identity, cryptography, time, and verification, built into the environment and inherited automatically by every participant. Not added at the perimeter. Not retrofit when the clock runs out. SQS is building that infrastructure. Deployable on classical systems now, designed to evolve as the hardware catches up. The transition period is where organizations are most exposed, and most of them are still treating it as a problem for next quarter. The full manifesto: sqs.world/manifesto

Most space security conversations at Symposium this week will be about post-quantum cryptography. PQC buys time. It does not change the model. The harder conversation, the one that actually determines whether the next generation of space infrastructure is trustworthy, is about trust at the infrastructure layer. Identity. Sovereign time. Verification that survives adversarial conditions. Built in, not bolted on. Interested in knowing more, read our manifesto. SQS will be on the floor April 13–16, Colorado Springs, having that conversation with the people who are ready, or want to get ready for it. If that's you, comment below or send a DM. One of the advantages of working with people who’ve actually shaped national strategy is that they don’t deal in hypotheticals. In a recent essay, Dr. Joel Mozer, former Chief Scientist of the United States Space Force and an advisor to Secured Quantum Services, challenges a habit that shows up everywhere in technology and defense: planning for a single “expected” future and hoping it holds. His point is simple and uncomfortable: the world doesn’t work that way. Security, resilience, and deterrence don’t come from betting on one outcome. They come from building systems that can adapt when reality takes a different turn, because it always does. That way of thinking is deeply aligned with how we approach quantum-secure infrastructure at SQS. Not as a prediction about what the future will be, but as preparation for the futures we can’t fully predict. Joel’s piece is worth the read, not because it’s theoretical, but because it’s grounded in experience. 🔗 Read it here: https://lnkd.in/gTw33-xK #StrategicThinking #NationalSecurity #Resilience #QuantumSecurity #DefenseInnovation #SQS Raymond Schouten Dave Price Angel Cardon Erin Delacroix Samuel Lock Austin Hood Dmytro Bozhko Anessa Funk Zain Premji Paul Armijo Glen Koziuk Ganesh M. The image says what our planning often ignores. The straight line looks confident—but it breaks when surprise appears. That’s what happens when we bet on a single projected future. The diverging paths represent something harder, but smarter: planning for multiple plausible futures before reality forces our hand. In space, linear thinking is especially dangerous. Technology is accelerating, commercial actors are reshaping the domain, and competitors are deliberately pursuing surprise. In this article, I argue that relying on a single Future Operating Environment isn’t a strategy—it’s risk. A small, disciplined investment in foresight can reduce long-term costs and prevent strategic surprise. The future won’t arrive in a straight line. Our planning shouldn’t either.

When conversations about the future of cybersecurity take place inside the Palace of the Parliament, you know the stakes are high. Last week, SQS had the privilege of co-leading the Quantum-Enhanced Security for Critical Infrastructure workshop in Bucharest, alongside our partners FACTORY 4.0 and the The Romanian National Cyber Security Directorate (DNSC). Bringing together policymakers, defense leaders, and industry innovators, the workshop explored how quantum technologies are redefining national resilience, from securing energy grids and smart factories to protecting digital sovereignty across Europe. This wasn’t just a discussion about “what’s next.” It was about how to act now, transforming research into deployment and strengthening the systems that keep nations running. A huge thank-you to our Romanian and European partners for the collaboration, insight, and commitment to building a quantum-secure future. We’re proud to share some exciting news from Bucharest. Last night, Secured Quantum Services (SQS) received the Quantum Computing Excellence Award at the 2025 Factory 4.0 Digital Excellence Gala. This recognition honors our work in making quantum computing accessible and scalable by providing the missing link, the secure communications and infrastructure needed to connect quantum technology with real-world industries. At SQS, we believe the power of quantum shouldn’t live only in the lab. It should be part of how nations secure their data, how factories protect their operations, and how critical systems stay trusted in an AI-driven world. For us, this isn’t just about quantum, it’s about trust. Every connected system depends on confidence in the data that drives it. Our mission is to make that trust inherent in the digital infrastructure of tomorrow. A heartfelt thank you to the FACTORY 4.0 team for recognizing how quantum innovation can strengthen Europe’s digital resilience, and to our incredible partners and collaborators here in Romania and around the world who share our vision of a secure, connected future. Here’s to the builders, innovators, and visionaries making quantum readiness real. #QuantumComputing #QuantumExcellence #DigitalTransformation #QuantumSecurity #Industry40 #Cybersecurity #Innovation #Romania #Factory40 #SQS Raymond Schouten Dave Price Angel Cardon Erin Delacroix Samuel Lock Austin Hood Dmytro Bozhko Anessa Funk Zain Premji Paul Armijo Glen Koziuk Jeff D. Quantum-secure infrastructure isn’t a U.S. or European challenge, it’s a global one. On October 9 in Bucharest, our Co-Founder & Chief Strategy Officer Zain Premji will represent Secured Quantum Services on the Cybersecurity 4.0: Securing the Smart Factory panel at FACTORY 4.0 This panel connects leaders fromThe Romanian National Cyber Security Directorate, TUV Austria Romania, Acronis, Women4Cyber Romania, and Infosec Center, to address one of the defining questions of our time: How do we secure industrial systems and smart factories when the risks are cross-border, threats are advancing, and resilience is a shared mission? For SQS, this is part of a bigger story. From Colorado Springs to Bucharest, we’re helping partners in space, defense, critical infrastructure, and Industry 4.0 test, validate, and deploy secure systems that bridge classical and quantum infrastructure. Our thanks to FACTORY 4.0 for creating this platform and to our European partners who recognize that security innovation must be collaborative, not siloed. 📅 October 9 📍 Bucharest 🔗 Register here: https://lnkd.in/gMatqibV We’d love to hear from this community: what do you see as the biggest challenge in securing Industry 4.0 systems today?
