A room full of people choosing to show up for children and families experiencing foster care can create incredible impact. At this year’s Evening of Impact, the Seattle Angels community raised more than $146,000 to help expand consistent, relational support for children, youth, and caregivers across our region. What made the evening especially meaningful wasn’t just the fundraising total, it was the collective belief that families navigating foster care deserve community, connection, and practical support. Sometimes, when you’re planning an event like this, you wonder: Will people understand the why behind it? Will the hours, details, conversations, and preparation lead to something meaningful? This year’s Evening of Impact was a powerful reminder that our community cares deeply about creating belonging for children, youth, and caregivers experiencing foster care. People showed up. 💛 Waitlist Highlight Right now, a foster family in Kent is caring for four young children (ages 1–11) and may soon welcome another child into their home. Like many caregivers supporting children experiencing foster care, they are doing everything they can to provide stability, love, and consistency. But raising several young children can be overwhelming without a strong community around them. Support for families like this can look like: • encouragement for caregivers • help easing the financial strain of a busy household • building a circle of community around the family At Seattle Angels, our goal is simple: ensure families and children experiencing foster care are never alone. An 18-year-old in West Seattle is currently on our Dare to Dream mentor waitlist. He’s easygoing, enjoys sports, anime, martial arts, and riding his bike. Like many young people his age, he’s preparing for a major transition. Getting ready for college and independent living. What he’s looking for is a steady mentor in their 30s or older who can help with life skills, decision-making, and the day-to-day realities of adulthood. Someone who will stay connected and walk alongside him as he takes these next steps. This is what consistent mentorship makes possible during a pivotal season of life.

This family has been our my minds. Right now, a family in Kent is caring for three boys, elementary and middle school ages. These boys love camping, fishing, board games, sports, and being outside. Their Christian faith is an important part of their life, and they have big energy that needs room to run. What this family needs isn’t complicated. They’re looking for steady, consistent support. Someone who can show up month after month and keep up with their pace. This is what relationship-based support looks like. When someone shows up consistently, it builds trust, relief, and real connection. They are still waiting.
