Finding the right care team can make all the difference in a sarcoma journey. The Sarcoma Foundation of America’s Treatment Centers Directory helps patients and families connect with specialized centers experienced in treating sarcoma, offering access to multidisciplinary care, clinical trials, and expert support. The directory includes centers that meet specific criteria for sarcoma-focused care, including multidisciplinary teams and access to clinical trials. Is your institution committed to providing specialized sarcoma care? We encourage eligible centers to apply to be included in the directory and help patients find the expert care they need. Thank you Natasha Nathan , Shelby Ostrander, and Sarcoma Foundation of America for inviting me to share some thoughts and reflections before the SFA’s Race to Cure Sarcoma Boston 2026. We are honored to partner with people with sarcoma in their cancer and life journeys, and partner with them to make advances in research and discoveries. There is so much more work that needs to be done to Cure Sarcoma, but it is good to reflect on the progress we have made together. 25 years ago, this month, imatinib or Gleevec was first approved by the FDA. Since then, scientific breakthroughs and a slew of new chemotherapies, targeted therapies, immunotherapies, and engineered cell therapies have allowed us to personalize and optimize our care of people with sarcoma. None of this could have happened without them. Future advances will not happen without them. We could not do what we do, in the sarcoma medical and research community, without them. Whether they are/were enrolled on a clinical trial, or contributed their health information or tumor samples to foundational research, or served on patient advisory boards, or met with lawmakers and power brokers, or participated in Race for the Cure to support SFA, the contributions of people with sarcoma (and their families and loved ones) have impacted, and will impact, so many lives. I am thankful for their and SFA’s role in advocating for a better tomorrow. Sarcoma doctors like me are here to do whatever we can to help give voice and find solutions. Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

Sarcoma Awareness Month is almost here, and we’ve been hard at work preparing for another impactful year of raising awareness and bringing our community together. Now, we need YOUR help! For Light Up for Sarcoma on July 24, landmarks, buildings, and spaces across the U.S. and around the world are lighting up yellow in support of everyone impacted by sarcoma. We’d love to make this year even bigger by adding more locations with the help of our community. You can find the full list of participating locations, along with a message template to help request a local landmark or building to light up, on our website: https://lnkd.in/gXsH-cHc Once you get confirmation of a location lighting up, please email communications@curesarcoma.org so we can add it to our list. Thank you for helping us make this Sarcoma Awareness Month bigger, brighter, and more impactful than ever before! #SarcomaAwarenessMonth #LightUpForSarcoma #CureSarcoma #Sarcoma

During National Cancer Research Month, we’re reminded that rare cancers like sarcoma are too often overlooked. Since 2000, SFA has invested more than $27 million in research, helping drive progress and expand treatment options. Research is the path forward and it’s at the heart of everything we do. As the largest private funder of sarcoma research, SFA remains committed to advancing discoveries and improving outcomes for every patient.
