  • Launched by the State of Arizona, the Power AZ program offers help paying utility bills to Arizonans who may not qualify for traditional low-income energy assistance. Apply for Power AZ assistance through the Arizona Department of Economic Security A to Z portal online. Households with an income of up to 100% of the State Median Income, which is $8,998 per month for a household of four, could receive between $160 to $640 in assistance in a 12-month period. A one-time crisis payment of up to $500 is also available to those who qualify. Customers who need assistance completing an application can contact SRP customer service representatives 24/7 at (602) 236-8888 or (602) 236-1111 (Spanish).

  • As the host of this year’s Nuclear Nonoperating Owners’ Group Conference, we were able to share the behind-the-scenes workings of our Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station’s Water Resources facility with those in attendance. Attendees immersed themselves in two full days of learning, exploring the latest industry news and trends. With Arizona’s energy demand continuing to grow, so has the need for a diverse energy mix. Nuclear power provides 24/7 carbon‑free power with long‑term price stability and performance during system stress.

  • Our crews have returned from the Navajo Nation, where they spent two weeks bringing electricity to homes without power. They installed eight transformers, put up 153 power poles, and rolled out 84,000 feet of electrical line to reach nine homes. We’re grateful for their hard work and dedication to supporting communities across Arizona.

  • As electricity demand accelerates, SRP is taking bold steps to modernize the grid. A recent Wall Street Journal Custom Content article highlights SRP’s leadership in virtualizing protection, automation and control (vPAC) within our substations. By shifting from hardware‑centric to software‑defined systems, SRP is enabling: ⚡ Support for rapid load growth ⚡ Improved reliability and faster restoration ⚡ Reduced hardware footprint and lifecycle costs ⚡ Faster deployment through software‑driven upgrades SRP is also helping lead the vPAC Alliance, a global, utility‑driven effort to scale substation virtualization using open, standards‑based architectures. As Associate General Manager and Chief Power System Executive Bobby Olsen shared, “The grid we’re planning for five or six years from now will look fundamentally different from what we operate today.” Learn more about the vPAC Alliance and SRP’s innovation in grid modernization. https://lnkd.in/gRWvvMKS
